Oh nightmare, DB! Still, at least it wasn't too bad & your pie was ok :)

Thanks HB. All sorted out now phew! How's you?

Have a houseful of choklit and sweets for trick or treaters. Have had a few round so far. Have no pumpkin so put a round pink IKEA lamp in the window as a subsititute. Not a red light though - just a pink one :)

Feeling a bit of a[STRIKE] Lurky[/STRIKE] Scrooge, as I'm resolutely ignoring trick or treaters of which we've had loads.

Soon be time for carol singers. OH insists on asking them to sing a few verses of a proper carol (not just 'we wish you a merry Christmas') before he'll give them anything:o. I think I'll join you behind the sofa HB.

I'm off to France on Thursday (if it's open:D) for a long weekend. I'm out for lunch on Tuesday and people round on Wednesday for dinner. Not a good start to November. I'm already playing catch-up and it hasn't started yet:eek:.

    Hello again.

You are truly an inspiration and I wonder if I will ever be AF on a weekend night.

I managed another AFD on Thursday last week, but Friday had 3/4 bottle of wine (it helped that DP went out, as I usually have much more than that) and Saturday drank one bottle, which I didn't think was too bad considering I was up until 2.00 am, and I really enjoyed the three glasses over the evening, rather than just necking it down. We were at friends (four couples - kids had halloween party/fireworks etc and then went to bed). Although the men were drinking beer after beer, none of the other women were drinking (two tee-total because of being very ill when they drink alcohol, and the other was driving) so it wasn't too difficult.

I talked my way out of having to have an AFD tonight, as kids are off school tomorrow and I have the day off. I'm feeling a bit guilty, as I had said I was going to stay AF on a 'school night' and DS said 'no wine' to me and I bluffed my way out of it.

I am going to try and stay AF from tomorrow until Friday.

As it's the start of a new month, I though I'd join you. I'm not too sure how I go about this, but I want to try and be AF Monday to Thursday. I work out that to be 18 days, so will sign myself up for the November challenge. I think I'll allow myself a few slip ups, so will go for 15 days.

Thank you guys, I hope I can keep it up.

BTW you're right Graeme, alcohol free wine is rank!

Aaagh, this is a cutting down as well as giving up thread; if this has helped you drink less over this weekend then happy days! :T

Best of luck with November :)

  • Aargh - I'm a cutter downer too, and have to be very, very strict with myself, and have blips quite often, but I'm struggling along.

Done my 2 AFDs for the weekend, Jo, ta.

    Night night everybody xx
