Hugs Sim, please be strong :) xx

    Thanks Jo.

Just wish I'd seen sense 2 weeks back.

Don't know what came over me :(

Am really trying to 'live in the moment', one moment at a time and all that, but it's hard knowing that if I hadn't drank back then, I'd have been able to clear the debt!

Well, it's only just gone 9am and I already feel like a drink :-/

This is a nightmare of an addiction.

    Sim x
I can not believe I wasted the money I had 2 weeks back on booze, when it was meant to clear this debt.

So b loody annoyed with myself :-/

If only I'd paid it off when I had £800 in the bank 2 weeks back.

Am really struggling with this feeling.

    Cheers,

    Sim x

Be strong and look forward sim. The only point in looking backwards would be to learn from mistakes not beat yourself up over them.

Glad to hear you've got some work coming up. Congratulations on your AF week:T. Have you been getting out at all? You really should try to have some fresh air and exercise.
  • Hello everyone,

I think I might need some support. I am an avid reader and long term poster but have created an a/e as this is a really sensitive subject as I'm sure you are all aware. I drink too much, i know that but hadnt realised that cutting down would be so problematic. I decided to cut down on alcohol 3 months ago too lose weight, i think the longest i have gone without is a few days.

I seem to have developed a habit and am easily drinking a bottle of wine a night with no hangover or feeling drunk at all..in fact i have on occassion gone and bought another bottle as i feel fine...this worries me alot.

I really wouldnt like to cut out alcohol all together but would like to be able to only drink it on a friday night or now and again on social occassions. Has anyone else successfully managed this?

8th AF day for me today.

I am not sure about the curry meet-up, I'm feeling a bit nervous and my life has been a bit nightmarish these past few weeks. I don't really want to go into it but it has made me feel more concerned about my drinking. I am going to attempt a break from drinking for a while and I'm going to ask for another liver test from my GP.

I am feeling a bit more positive today though and am planning a big exciting detox weekend,:D lots of water to drink and hot baths and pampering myself.

    Hope everyone is okay.:A

    Hi Frugal :)

There are people on here who've successfully gone from the situation you've described to being able to enjoy an occasional drink. Stick around & we'll hopefully help you get there too :)

Sim, try not to dwell on the past. *hugs*

    Welcome FF (Frugalfoods)!

I haven't managed it. Tried to cut down and found it hard to limit myself so have now stopped completely for nearly a year. Good luck with your 'journey'

Had the biggest !!!!! of a week at work. Ending in a bit of an emotional meltdown this afternoon. Good cry does help!!

Still AF and drinking hasn't really crossed my mind.

Sue my heart goes out to you. Have you explained the situation to work? They may be willing for you to take that time off unpaid and still go back. May be better for them than to have to go through the rigmarole of re-recruiting.

Jo....Power to your elbow lady. Sounds good !

Sim. Glad you are finding the book useful, he does indeed speak a lot of sense. Are you doing all the exercises too?

    Good wishes to all!

    Hi Frugalfoods, welcome :)

115k, would really love to see you on Sunday :(

To all curry go'ers, sorry it's going to be a bit short notice but what with Stripy's French Fiasco and me not being able to get online properly this week, I shall have to give you all the arrangements in the morning.

We will be meeting in a pub an hour before restaurant which is 5.30 - 6pm.

Hope you will be able to make it.

Stripey is enroute as we speak! :D

Off home now, have a wonderful AF evening all, if not AF, please drink sensibly

  • 365 days - thanks for your advice. I think I've blown it with them, the management (females) were really annoyed and didn't understand. They have said I should be able to do some freelance work for them though. I'm not really sure I've made the right decision, but will feel better when i get some more freelance work, if not from them, then from another agency.

Have a good evening everybody. I'm definitely AF tonight.
