I went to the library and took out some books on alcoholism, anxiety and addicition - not that they helped me I drank a bottle and a half of wine instead of reading them :o am going to be AF today though...
Jo - I just want to say how amazed and inspired I am that you are AF. You do sound different, in a mega positive way of course. I hope I am able to find what it is you have found inside of you, to crack the drinking.

This is a message for both of you.

I am nowhere near through the woods, in fact I doubt I ever will be, constant vigilence etc. But something has clicked in me.

Can I suggest you do what I did last week, it takes a lot of soul searching and for the whole of last week I drank more than I ever have done and I cried, a lot! I wrote down everything in my life, starting from the beginning right up to now, putting down everything, bad, good, sad etc, how I felt, what I wished had happened instead etc. I re-read this over and over and it all seemed to make sense, I knew why I started drinking and why I continued to drink on it.

This may not help either of you depending on your reasons for drinking, but it might give you some insight?

I feel like a new person, not drinking again doesn't scare me. Still can't put down on here my reasons for drinking but now I have it in the open (to read) I don't want to drink and dwell, I'd rather deal with my feelings.

I won't ever drink again, I just know it.

Good luck to you both xx

Thanks jo, I blame you as you encourage such chatty threads!!

Congratulations on the audits and hope the meeting went well earlier. I hope your job is on the plus side of your 'life journal'.:A

Hope everyone is having a good day. It's glorious here although temperature has gone from 0.5 to 14 in about 2 hours.

  • Jo thanks for the advice so glad you are so positive, I don't think I have enough paper or free space on my comp to write down all my life :rotfl: honestly it would take me the rest of my life to write down everything that has happened to me in the last 41 years!! I honestly think that there is no one reason why I drink other than the fact I love the taste of it and the way it makes me feel at the time I am drinking it :o

Right off to take DS to a playgym now, I am meeting a friend and her son there at 2pm catch you all later, sending love and AF vibes to you all xxx
