Do HDNL employ any decent drivers with knowledge of the Highway Code?

Anyway like I said earlier I'll post again to let you know if I get a reply from the director I emailed.

If someone has got an email address that they've used in the past I'd be grateful if they shared it otherwise there isn't anything more to say about it really. Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far.

Thanks for asking gordikin but since this is MSE I'm not planning to answer your question. If I do answer it, the original question will be totally lost in a debate about driving rights and wrongs.

Don't 'plan' to answer my question just answer it without a plan...why can'! you do so? What's with the 'this is MSE' nonsense? You are looking silly!

That's OK I've looked silly before and it will no doubt happen again. :D

You used to be a postie. Dunno what you do now. Just a guess because they are a related industry.

having worked with someone who was an HDNL driver
i can assure you that times would have to be tight for me to work for them

Went around to my parents yesterday to drop something off. As I was leaving I was cut up by a delivery driver. As he pulled away his tailgate swung open and a box fell out. I hooted and flashed him to stop but he just flicked the bird at me out of the window. I hooted and flashed again but he hooted back and sped off.

I've now got a parcel for some company 60 miles away in my hallway. I'll give the company a call on Monday and ask them what they want done about it. :D

Called the company whose parcel I have and they were grateful and pretty appalled with the courier. I think major fireworks will be raised with the courier company. I don't know who the courier is as the van was not signwritten and the label just has a barcode on it and the address of the recipient.

Apparently the parcel contains a £6k optical measuring unit  and they've asked me if I would be willing to write a statement if the equipment is damaged by the fall. No problem with giving a statement.

Just waiting now for one of their sales reps to pop around and collect the parcel this afternoon.

I only saw this last night and didn't have time to reply then.

Thanks for posting this Wayne. I'm not sure what the winking smilie is for but makes me a little sceptical about the addresses you've provided.

The latest update is that I have had a reply from Mrs Groarke. here is what it said.
    Dear

Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention.

I am having the incident investigated.

    Yours sincerely

    Anne Marie Groarke

I was pleasantly surprised by the speed of her answer as the email arrived on the Monday. However I have not heard anything since. I will post the result when I do.

I guess if you do hear anything back it will be something like "action has been taken to ensure this will never happen again, sadly we are unable to provide further details into what this action is"

It would have been nice to receive a reply of any kind to be honest but so far there has been nothing else from her or her office. Can't say I'm surprised but since it had such a promising start I had high hopes. Sometimes you just want to believe that a firm is going to take responsibility for the drivers it employs.

I have gained quite a lot of insight into HDNL since I started my research. It seems that no one rates them really either as a carrier or as individuals. When their drivers have taken part in 'debates' online about their firm they have invariably been foul mouthed and offensive
both towards the other posters and when talking about their customers.

They brag about doing things like peeing on customer's parcels to get their own back and the like... says it all really.

You pay peanuts - you get monkeys! :rotfl:
