Ive had a lota success with ebay.. but I just find its bais toward buyers really tiresome.. I mean as sellers most of us have authenticated ourselvees with bank details and landline telephone numbers... but still all someone has to do to scam us is click one button on paypal to freeze payment and have a the dispute handled by people who have no grasp of the english language.

I don't understand this agressive post of yours Angelcake.

As I said, when you post on a public forum, surely you understand that everyone has different opinions from your own...you asked a question you received replies. Just becuase they weren't to your liking, I don't think there was any need for this outburst.

Anyway, it seems that this thread is rapidly going downhill, so maybe it's time it was locked and we all move on.

Hmmm, although i think you are right, its a lot of money (although you dont actually know the postage system she is using it could be dhl for all you know) but if you'd have emailed me back being that cheeky i would email you back telling you where to go, at the end of the day theres just no need for it. There is the point also that postage and packaging can include a handling aspect which you cant put a price on as you dont know the legnths to which she is going to post it. For all you know she could be disabled and live four miles from her post office. Far fetched, but its ebay, shes entitled to charge what she likes.

I think you were being rude.

If you dont like the postage - dont buy.

If I got an email like that, I would tell you where to 'shove it'.

Ive sold things for 1p and charged £5 p&p, whereas in the past I might have started the bidding on £2-3 and charged £3 p&p.

Ive been scammed too many times to worry about how 'ethical' that may come across.

At the same time, I have bought many items for 1p with £15 p&p - thats what the item is worth - thats what I am willing to pay - not bothered about how the seller wants to load it.

    your very friendly :)
Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.
  • Last I checked, discussing how to 'cheat ebay' was rather frowned upon in this forum.

    Cheat???

Isn't the whole purpose and ethos of this website to save money? To 'outdo' the multinationals / the banks / the instituttions that have had all too easy for so long?

This website is built upon discovering and exploiting loopholes to our advantage - yet when its eBay, its called 'scamming'.

    Nonsense!

are you being rude? short answer would be yes.

If i got that message, depending on my mood i would have:

a: told you that would have been £25, but the Queen is on holiday, so the King will be delivering it. So don't forget to bow when he knocks on your door.

b: told u to sod off

As for overcharging, then yes she is, but i dont really care as long as the total is the amount i'm willing to pay.

if i had known then what i know now
  • If you didn't agree with the P&P or couldn't afford it and you haven't bid on it then just walk away and do not bid. There was no need for your comments to the seller.

Breaking the T&Cs of ebay that you signed up to? Yes, I call that cheating.

Saving money by finding a legal opportunity? Enterprise.

Breaking the laws of the land? That's called crime. It might save you money, are you going to condone it?

We're not talking about the same thing at all.
