Can't really mention the Scooby without also mentioning the Lancer Evo - both of them can suit pretty much any budget, if you can find good used ones that haven't been through hedges!

A Subaru Impreza is much improved, and becomes a better drivers car if you get the Prodrive geometry settings put on it, that gets rid of that horrid understeer characteristic.

I think there are lots of good drivers cars out there, sporty Megane, late Clio 197 with Cup suspension, Focus ST (volvo engine) etc.

The Essex old bill get some nice toys to drive, ST220 Mondeo, Subaru Impreza STi, old and new shape Evo's.

Have even heard some good reports about the Volvo C30 with the 5 cylinder engine as used in the Focus ST.

My old Subaru Legacy (2004 new shape) was a nice car, though would have been much better in seriously understated estate form. Though from experience the damping rates on the first ones imported weren't the best, much in the same way as the first Mondeo they didn't get the suspension fine tuned correctly first time out. The later Legacies (2005 on) where better in this respect, or so I have been told.

Agree on the Clio 197 too. Just got rid of mine unfortunately. Was epic to drive in the "twisties" and had plenty and i mean plenty of grunt.

My flat mate had a Scooby WRX STI (bug eye) and he was shocked one morning on the way home from work (work at same depot) that he couldn't shake me. Even when he was on full chat with his "w$nk valve" blowing every time he changed gear he couldn't pull away from me.

I test drove The Renaultsport Megane 250 a few months back. That would have eaten his Scooby alive but i couldn't justify the £25k cost
If Adam and Eve were created first
.Does that mean we are all inbred

Porsche Boxter just screams "Look at me, I can't afford a 911" :p

I woudn't have one if you paid me, however, I do like the look of a boxster.

The engineering of them is ancient... engine behind the rear wheels... no thanks... completely different car to a boxster.

Say what you like about the position of the engine in 911s, but this is what gives them their character and makes them such a hoot to drive.

911s came first and third in this year's Evo magazine car of the year!

We're just going to keep quoting sillier and more obscure cars until we get some clarification of what the OP is actually looking for.

    So...

    Subaru Vivio RX-R
    Mazda AZ-1
Nissan S15 Silvia Varietta with a Spec R conversion.

(I'd love to own all 3 of those cars FWIW)

OFFT that would be awesome, basicly get a loan and buy the above! S15's are amazing always wanted to own one but could only afford an spec s :(
  • does anyone know if theres a list of the most popular car involved in accidents

im sure the honda jazz must rank quite high they pull off some fantastic moves sometimes oblivious to the devestation that they caused behind them (although maybe they wont be ranked as they always manage to cause but not get involved)

i found one on its roof on a dual carriage way once the old lady inside doesnt know how it happened. it was just on its roof in the left lane pointing in the wrong direction

You get stupid drivers in all kinds of cars, so it will probably tie closely with the sales figures.

That said if I had to put a bet on it, I'd go for the Vauxhall Corsa, because there are so many of them. the old ones are in £50 shed territory, the new ones tend to be bought by people who aren't interested in cars as anything other than an A->B tool, but mainly because they're the most common car in the Barryboys shed database.
