It makes me cringe when people buy a number plate to match their car, like X5 or M3 or even worse BMW, it looks so tacky. I quite like some of the 'funny' ones, around me I've seen SIN (51N), PSYCO, MASSTER, FASSION.

I had one on a car for what I think was a valid reason.

Isn't just having one because you want one a valid reason?

Looks funnier still, when they decide to change the car, get a Jag for example, and keep the silly number plate!

As someone mentioned earlier, if you can't get A1 (or whatever and a digit 1) then they just look cheap and nasty - why buy a brand new car then make it look old with a silly plate? I don't mean look ageless with a abc123 style one, but one with a date prefix?

It's called freedom of choice and affects no one else but the owner. One of the few things in life that doesn't. If you lived in china you'd be fighting for the right. :(

And it's an instant form of recycling and revenue raising, they recycle cars, why not registrations :D
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
  • One thing that amazes me about Personalised Numbers and the DVLA is that they won't allow Reg Nos that have disappeared to be brought back, they will only allow transfers from existing vehicles. They could make an absolute fortune by allowing people to buy numbers that have been scrapped years ago when they weren't valued.
