Quite an accurate one though IMO.
At the end of the day !!!!!!! about with plates makes your car harder/impossible for ANPR to read which isn't exactly a good idea is it?0 -
I think all these number plate variations should be made legal. It would then serve as a warning to sensible motorists that the car bearing such plates is driven by some idiot who puts vanity and appearance above driving safely and spending money on essential maintenance.
Not quite sure how you've made that connection.
It's called freedom of choice, even you have probably exercised it once or twice, if you don't like them, don't own one.
The Police on the other hand love 'em. Easy to spot, easy to remember and suckers for an excuse to stop and a spot fine.;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Some plates stand out without messing around with the characters.
KN08 HED springs to mind.0 -

I find it really interesting how popular private plates are in the UK. Not commonly known but it's the main thing that the other countries take the mick out of Brits for, similar to us talking about Itallians being WOPs and French Frogs. They take the mick about our private plate fetish.
I can see the point, most really do scrape the barrel to make sense. I think anything other than A1 etc looks like you're just not as successful as you wish you had been but it's choice thing.

That's because they can't buy them. They are popular in the USA and Australia too...0 -

Both can, I live in Italy at the moment and can assure you we have them here. Maybe they just don't look private unless you speak the language. I'm a french national and they're also available (to a lesser degree due to regeional identifiers) in France. Most just don't use them because we don't think an 8 looks like a B, and we'd rather use the money to buy a better car.
In fact, a friend of mine has a personal plate on his Fiat utilising the FI from florence a 500 in the midde and a IT at the end making
FI 500 AT on his cinquecento, all he ever gets is pedestrians shouting "inglese" at him, taking the mick out of his rather English love of silly plates.0 -

The vast majority of people in the UK don't think an 8 looks like a B either. In fact, the vast majority of people in the UK don't have private plates either, so it seems your generalization makes about as much sense as me calling you a cheese eating surrender monkey.0
