I eat dinner at my boyfriends parents house about 4 or 5 nights a week and it didn't even occur to me that I should be contributing when they were out of work for several months.0

Really?!? how very self centered of you, it wouldn't occur to me NOT to contribute, even if it meant buying and cooking the meals a couple of times a week, but that's just me, I have a concience and think about others and not just myself...0 -

I know. I'm quite shocked at myself. The thought never even crossed my mind even though I know there were rows about money and my bfs Mum was having loads of trouble sleeping. I guess I'm just used to parents being the "givers" and kids the "takers".0 -
By there is some nosey parkers around isnt there?
I cant believe some people are so petty when it comes to grassing someone up fair enough if someone works and claims jobseekers and doesn't declare it or OH lives in house but isnt declared when they claim benefits but this is nothing
I am in same situation at home, daughter boyfriend stops odd night and I dont expect him to pay one penny for meals it also works other way around she stops at his house, it swings and bouts. Its got nothing to do with this nosey parker0 -

there is a bit of history between myself and this neighbour, which all stemmed from a parking space dispute (I don't even have a car ) and which she has decided to turn into a vendetta, last time she reported me was when the kids dad gave them his old flat screen TV, she reported me saying I was having expensive electrical goods delivered to my home :cool:Thats the world of benefits though.
There will always be someone who sees what you have, compares it to their own, assumes something and reports them!

I agree that seems a little OTT.
However you can't ask for state intervention in your life (money) and then moan when you get some (questions about your life)!
(Not paticularly aimed at the OP).

off the authorities maybe, but I don't think the neighbours have a right to question every detail of a claimants life.I agree that seems a little OTT.

My 14 year old bought me and his dad a takeaway a few weeks ago when he made some money at his fledgling new business to say thank you for everything we have done for him and because he loves us.
Im very proud of my son for many reasons and his thoughfullness puts many adults to shame, never mind spoilt kids.0 -

In my daughters bf defence he offers to help out with every meal I cook, started cutting the grass with out me asking him too when he found out I was paying someone to do it and most of all has spent the last year making my daughter happier than I've ever seen her, so thats good enough for me
