Strike in Spain?

Just about to book A few days in Spain when I heard on 5 Live that there may be a General Strike in Spain which will effect Baggage handling and Transport. This may begin on Sept 29th.
Does anyone know anything more? Thanks.

Things may change but I suppose you'll just have to keep checking your flight site news.

Just received some correspondence on this internally.

It appears that it is definitely going ahead on 29th September and that is the only day mentioned. It is country wide and company wide, but individuals can choose to opt out if they want to.

Well Ryanair are including Ibiza in their warning about hand luggage only... which airline are you travelling with? BA are advising of the disruption and offering to change flight dates free of charge...

Insurance won't cover you for industrial action now that it has been announced, but you still need it for all the other cover it gives you.
  • I'm flying with thomson to Ibiza on the 29th, when i checked with them today they said everything was running as normal still, but did request that I contact them again 1-2 days before my flight:(

I see both ryanair and easyjet have announced hand luggage only on that day of travel so I'm a bit concerned as to why thomson have not announced something:eek:
