If I was in your position OP, I would hit the company where it hurts - in the pocket!

Refuse to use the vending machine until they see sense.

    And do what?

Yes I will not use your machine but I'm not telling you I'm not using it so you can't rectify any problems I may have with your machine!

Im not really that fussed Sarah, its not really about money (would come in handy though haha) quite more out of principal. From a legal prespective, why should they get away with it especially as it has been going on so long?

From a legal perspective, the suppliers (manufacturers?) may have been committing a criminal offence under either the Food Safety Act or Trade Descriptions Act. If it's about principle and not cash, complain to your local Trading Standards Department - they should investigate.

You'll be laughing on the other side of your face when the bottom falls out of the powdered soup market.

No doubt idiots like this will lead to more or less everything being labelled 'not suitable for vegetarians' in the same way everything is labelled 'may contain peanuts'.
  • Down Dog and Duck last night, with pint of Best (Old Spot, not suitable for Veggies due to the picture of a pig on the badge), after my Free Range Boar Sausages, Eggs and Chips, I had to send my packet of nuts back as the warning was unsuitable. It said 'May Contain Nuts'

I am now going on a Gluten Free Diet.

I fu*king hate vegetarians. The ones that don't like the taste; then fair enough. But those that do it out of principle; hypocrites, the lot of them.

And idiots like you will continue to miss the point. The soup was labelled - inaccurately.
  • If the OP was a Muslim who had been inadvertently consuming meat that was non Halal, would your replies be any different do you think?
