How to sue a company?

Help Please, any advice appreciated!

I will start my story....
when I started working for the company I work for they have a vending machine which provides various Coffee's & Tea's ect including Soup by a well known brand...

This was labelled as Country Vegetable Soup 'Suitable for vegeterians'. (and had been since I started over a year ago)

However the manufacturer contacted my workplace recently to alert them to the fact there was an error in their labelling and actually some animal produce is used in the product, although it not be meat itself! its not suitable for Vegetarians.

I think this is digusting and would really like to sue the company for doing this!!!!

I dont know how or what or where to go!
I tried calling consumer direct but but they are closed.... I am clueless at what to do!

Anybody? Thanks in advance!

    A chicken leg? :rotfl:

Seriously though, I think you are going a little OTT by wanting to sue. Perhaps contact the company first to ask for an explanation of how this happened.
  • You could 'sue' (small claims) or just ask for your money back on all the cups of soup you have bought over the last year as it was clearly not as described.

They would prob give you the 20 or 30 quid it was.

What would you like to sue them for? ie, what are you hoping the outcome will be?

Disgusting that a mistake was made?

As someone said work out how many cups of soup you had, ask for a refund and hope for maybe a token gesture but really, what else do you actually want?

  • In all seriousness, what fiscal value would you place on the inconvenience and distress that this has caused you?

Unless you can quantify that, 'sueing' a firm is going to be a pretty tough task.

Question being are you a vegan or a vegetarian and what exactly is the animal produce that was used.

The animal produce could be eggs or milk for all you know.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
  • Oh pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee!

If the vending company had shut their mouth and hadn't sai anything, but changed the product so it was suitable for vegeterians would you have been any the wiser?

Can you prove you ha soup from the vending machine?

Gawd we're getting more like the US every day as far as suing is concerned . I despair I really do.

Right so the fact that I choose not to consume meat or animal fats but yet have done so because a company have a made a serious error resulting in me now knowing that my life choices have been violated is a joke to you. You people are pathetic, I dont even know why I bothered asking.
