Ahh,bless her,bet she thought she was doing something nice and feels bad now!!!

This is probably the case, although a £60 all in day trip to the beach would be more suitable right now (Well, not today given the recent inclement weather)! The kids would love it all the same.

low cost holidays package any flights with any hotels with any transfers, so as indeed mentioned by delwyns........., if they have used a low cost carrier (eg easyjet, Jet2, Ryanair etc.......) then their terms and conditions will state that the flight is totally non refundable.

as far as unfair terms, what is unfair? your partner asked the holiday company to book the holiday, and now asking to cancel the holiday. By booking the holiday you are accepting the companies terms and conditions (in fact, they will have probably ticked a box to say they have read and accepted them).

In my opinion, if it is just financial uncertainty as to not wanting to travel, i would contact the company to see how long you can leave cancelling the booking without losing any more than the £113 per person quoted before, just in case things change at a later stage, and you find you can go.

Nothing else to add to what Dave has said, this is the only option you have

The loss of 113pp is around a standard deposit, although 2012 flights with lowcost wont be out yet so im guessing that these are charter airlines

Sorry its March 2011. The airline is Monarch. I will get her to call and ask tomorrow, thanks

Yeah the flights would be booked with Monarch direct

Therefore the flights are booked now, you can ammend the dates but you wont be able to cancel the holiday and get a refund

You will either have to travel or dont and lose the deposit

Not really, the OP mistakenly said 2012 when it was really 2011.

If its a low cost holiday and she's already paid £1000, how much is the rest? she must have had some money to be able to afford large deposit?

  • Sign up for Avon, and become representatives, it's coming up to christmas, work your butt off selling, and you can save your comission for your holiday.

Then go and enjoy your holiday.
