Mailbox Nationwide. Has any one else had problems?

I signed up to do a leaflet drop for mailbox nationwide last month (4000, it took forever) for payment of £80. I knew they took 4 weeks to pay but after submitting my paperwork i heard nothing from them so i emailed to confirm that they had received it. They emailed back saying they had and that i would get paid on the 19th sept, however there was nothing in my bank on monday. when i emailed them all i got in response was "passed to accounts" and since they have not answered any of my emails. I tried calling them yesterday and all i could get from them was their bank system was not working and i would get a cheque but they could not tell me when. Im seriously starting to wonder if i am ever going to get paid. Has any one else had any problems with this company?

I phoned them last week to be told their internet banking was down (eh?) I was informed I would be getting a cheque in the post within the next few days. The cheque has not arrived so I emailed them this morning but have not had a reply. Thanks for reminding me; I will phone them again now. Grrrr.

Just phoned again. Apparently my cheque has been posted and I should wait a couple more days. If I don't hear by Friday I will phone them again.

Sounds dodgy to me...how can internet banking go down??

If your cheques arrive will you be doing anymore work for them, or won't you trust them now?

No, I won't do it again for them. Those hours and hours of walking and then having to wait two months to be paid have put me off. I'd do it for a better company though.

i have been told the same, that my cheque was posted yesterday second class. thats only after a stand up argument on the phone with the woman in charge. aparently their banking system has been down for several weeks yet they have never bothered to notify anyone who has worked for them. Gonna give them til the end of the week for the cheque to arrive before i call back again. I will never work for them again. have never come accross people so unorganised and unhelpful.

I did some work for them last year. Took me two months to get paid after lots of calling and then they never used me again...I'm sure it's because I kicked up a stink!

I did work for them last year, didnt get paid on time so chased it up and got a cheque the next day. Theyve never used me again either.

Same problems here as well,awaiting payments 8 weeks up now,and no cheque,usual chasing on the phone and email now with no reply so far,have always paid more or less on time 4 to 6 weeks,but this time something is not right i feel,does any one know much about this company?other than there web site and there still taking people on with vacancys,i wonder if people are still being paid? even after some time,its looks to me as if there holding payments back,this has all the haul marks of cashflow problems? in this company,the reason i think that is becaurse bacs payments have stopped and now its cheques and they take time to clear and a company has more control of there out goings with cheques as and when to send them out,i bet all the important people get payed first,managment and over heads that must be paid on time ie parcel company etc. I think we all need to find out more about whats going on at this company,does anyone know much about them?or paid them a surprize visit in person to get payed and have a look around i know just where they are,looks like its run from a house? acorn park is where they are a private drive hidden away from the road,after doing lots of google searches there also into holiday homes as well,as the address and that phone number are the same,ive also come across a mobile number as well for out of hours,have not tried it yet,want to try to get the money owed,without rocking the boat as to say,but one can only go so far diplomaticle on the phone and emails,as must would agree.I do think at the end of the day to go in person or as a group of people who are owed money as a surprized visit to them to get paid either cash or get a cheque as to whats outstanting to people,has anybody been there?done any good?found out much noseing around say?,i think we all need to share what we know about this campany and to get paid,my biggest worry is this company could be on the edge of ceasing trading?,but what i do think is that work is drying up,its local councils and county councils who are cutting back due to the goverment cuts coming along now,that would explain why there taking ages to pay up,not enough money to pay people when monies are due to be paid out to them,seems to be the right line of thinking here.
Well i hope this helps you folks out and anyone else in the same boat as well,lets share all we know,and see what can be done,theses got to be ways to get paid faster,iam now doing a full field search about this company now,will reply more when i know more.

Same story here! did a job for them last year never got paid when I was surposed to! I had to chase and chase them for it! Was surposed to have paid straight into my bank but in the end got a cheque!
And they never used me again either!

Seems to be a bit of a pattern here!;)

Yes deffently a pattern and chase,thats an understatement to say the least,most deff Not a company to work for keep well away,seems to me they just use people to there ends and try and get out of paying,i will sort them out,when i get my teeth into things like this i dont let go till ive sorted out,i wonder what Devon trading standards would say and think of this company,if they but knew?folks have written contracts with work done and when they are to be paid,its 4 weeks after job completion,not 2 months or longer,i bet there is people out there who never got paid at all,they never have paid up,tilll you have to chase them for payment,i could tell one hell of alot i know and found out or have seen and what goes on i can tell you,but not safe to put here in open forums,you never know who is reading these forums do you,i found this forum with a search in google,and so could nationwide mailbox if there looking to,we dont want to upset the boat with money owed/outstanding to others on here and myself included.They used to pay up okay bacs then it got to cheques then slowed right down with payments,ive a good idea whats going on here and i will get to the bottom of it one way or another,what i find out will get posted here,or private messages to members affected if its stuff one cant post in open forums as not deemed safe to do do,this company needs sorting out urgently now as i see it,its just not fair with all that money that is owed to folks.
