Cheers, But I've tried again this morning - you go through the on-line application process and get to the end before it tells you its been withdrawn. If its still available by phone then I'm still not going to apply as they're so incompetent they cant get their on-line business right - useless organisation. You can't even complain to them via email only their expensive phone number, though they give you the email for the ombudsman - tells you all you need to know about Halifax Customer "Service" .....0

My experience of emailing complaints to companies is that they sit unattended for two weeks and when they do finally answer them they only half-address the points raised.Cheers, But I've tried again this morning - you go through the on-line application process and get to the end before it tells you its been withdrawn. Halifax took a decision not to invite email complaints for two reasons.
1) Data Protection Act and security risks were considered to be high. Emailing account specific information isn't secure.
2) There is a risk of inviting numerous frivelous complaints that create an inferior service for those with genuine concerns.
As for your application problem, if others post a similar experience then it is a wider problem.
More likely that your PC is causing an issue.
- do you have existing ISAs with Halifax?
- have you cleared out your cookies and deleted your browser history?
- did you apply via a link in your favourites? It might be better to type in the web page.
- have you tried applying from another machine?

I also tried last night and this evening but this same message was displayed.I tried to open the 2.8% cash ISA yesterday on line - thought the website was down at first but finally got a message back that the ISA issue is now closed0 -
Does anyone know if halifax pays interest monthly or annually?0

From the Summary Box - http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/accounts/cash-isas/isa-direct-reward/philipsaveer wrote: »Does anyone know if halifax pays interest monthly or annually?Interest paid on 5 April and at the end of the reward period. For Halifax ISA Direct Rewards funded after 6 April 2011, interest will be paid at the end of the reward period. If you then keep your account as a ISA Saver Direct interest will be paid on 5 April each year, or the previous working day if 5 April is a non working day.0 -
I rang Nat West yesterday to enquire about my eISA, and they tell me they are about to bring out a fixed rate bond - 3% for 1 year, and up to 6% for fixing for longer. Not tax free, but it may work out better than an ISA even after tax. Min £5000 and you have to be a Nat West account holder. I told him I would consider it. Any thoughts folks?
Just as a general moan, it does seem to be a full time job maintaining the value of your savings. I try to keep moving my ISAs to where the best interest is, but it is very time consuming. I would like to consolidate all my ISAs but you can't always transfer them within a bank - for instance I have two Nat West ISAs but they won't let me transfer my cash ISA to my eISA, which is stupid because it forces me to look to another bank. It is obvious that it is made deliberately difficult. I feel sorry for those who are not good at figures and using the internet such as some older pensioners (Without being patronising!:o) 0 -
When I applied for this ISA two weeks ago, after the confirm page it says something along the lines of "thanks for your application, you'll hear from us within 14 days". Did anyone else get this? When I applied for someone else today, they got an account number and sort code straight away!
I clearly won't hear from them and it's bloody annoying because my other ISA expired a couple of days ago and is down to 0.2%. I wanted to get this done quickly. >_>0 -
