I am crackered and just a bit fed up.
This morning I cooked mince for a shepherds pie, a pan of stew and a chicken with apricots and brandy casserole. Quilting this afternoon and then shopping and library. I was just getting the supper ready when OH announced he had to go to bed, I felt like screaming.....I just feel that I am coming to the end of my tether, its been a carp 2 years and I can only see things getting worse, it is not helped by the fact the we moved twice in a year so OH could come back to where he has born. I am seriously worried about our finances, we seem to be staggering from one month to the next. OH has nothing to do with money, we have had so many arguments about it but he just does not change for him as long as he has some money in his pocket he is fine, no thought as to how I cope with the bills etc......we are not behind with any payments. We are of the generation who believe in paying off our debts, we spent the money we pay it back........I worked out last night that at our present level of income it will take us 3 years to pay everything off....it just seems 3 years too long...........We live on a fairly strict budget for food, we do eat well and cooking from scratch is second nature to me, its what I was brought up with and have done all my married life. There are times when I get really cheesed off and wish someone would cook for me for a change.
We are going away next week, back to see family, just have to pay for the fuel, but even then I will be worrying if OH is going to have a turn whilst we are out etc......I really feel that if the hospital do not come up with something soon I will really loose it.....maybe thats what I need to do, I know OH cannot help how he is but there is no respite for either of us............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Evening all
((((hugs))) to all those in need, it seems there are a few of you in need today
I had a brilliant time at uni todayMy presentation went very well (even if I do say so myself!). A few people came up to me afterwards to say it was good and that I clearly have a passion for my job. People talked about a range of different things; holidays, jobs, uni courses, hobbies, dog training, music etc. It was really nice to get to know some of the people on the course. Oh, and there is now a cute boy on the course too
.
I've just had a quick tea of pasta with the last of my pesto from the food festival, very yummy. I do now fancy some chocolate though, but have none in.
I have a spa day booked for tomorrow :j I can't wait. I'm having an exfoiliating body scrub followed by a hot stone massage, and then get to use the pool/jaquzzi/sauna/steam room all day. I have lunch included too. Bliss.
Have a good evening all

Evening all & thanks for welcomes!
Sounds like lots of get well soons are required - hope you all feel better quickly. JackieO - am I being thick - what is a Kindle?
esmf73 - mind if I earwig any veggie progress? I'm waiting (impatiently) to exchange on our first house - I can't wait to get stuck into my new veg patch & have already had a quick snoop over the Green fingered threads - will certainly be back there for tips!
Couple of general questions if anyone can advise...
Grocery Challenge - I want to join when October starts but don't know what to include. I know our biggest spend is food & drink & that's what we need to cut back on but does the GC budget people set themselves include meals out / takeaways / coffees on the run etc etc?
Are there any threads re stopping smoking (couldn't find anything obvious) as I need some motivation chats for that too?
Cheers all!

Evening All
Well, this is a bit of a low place today, hope everyone with worries/problems can sort them out and start to feel better.
Celyn your photos are amazing, what a place. I hope I will get to visit one day.
Been a wet day here today so no washing, probably not enough for a complete load anyway. Have made four batches of 'millies cookies' this evening as our tins are empty and we are having a MacMillan coffee morning tomorrow (we are on holiday Friday and Monday so have to have it early). Made two lots of them chocolate and they are lovelty!
Got word yesterday that I am to pick up 6 ex battery hens at the end of October, I've never had them before so it will be a challenge. I just hope they get on ok with the hens I already have. Maybe the old ones will help to teach them to be real hens.
JackieO - let us know how you enjoy your kindle, they look fab!
Hugs to all (Hope to hear from you soon JackieG). Take care XX0 -
Welcome MrsEM!JackieO - am I being thick - what is a Kindle?
I know you asked Jackie, but I had the webpage open anyway so this is a Kindle. They are electronic books. You can store thousands of books on them. I'm not sold on it to be honest. I love the feel (and smell!) of a book, and can't see how reading from a screen will be as good. Plus I love my local library and I'm too tight to pay for books :rotfl:. But my friend has just ordered one so I was having a look.

Evening all,
Really having a senior day to-day, thought that I had read daily and posted....
Lovely here this morning, did 2 loads of washing, hung out, took in some things earlier and guess what....the heavens opened at 5 and it has been bucketting down ever since....my poor clothes, luckily there is nothing urgent or delicate so it can all take its chances!
Went out for lunch to-day with my friend and OH....had a lovely meal and a cappucino....no starter or pudding so feeling a little peckish now, going to have some bread and hummous in a bit...bread was nice in spite of the fact that I forgot to put olive oil or salt into it when putting it in BM last night.
Made 5 lbs of apple and blackberry jam this morning, not madly pleased with it, tastes fine, set is ok, but just not as it used to taste when I was a child....could be taste buds I suppose.
JackieO....glad that bandages are working their magic.
JackieG....hugs pet.
NPM....hugs and good vibes on the way to you and Noah.
Mrs Em....welcome.
Csarina....hugs
Bitsy....hugs to you and DS
Celyn....love those pictures.
Flutterby....of course your presentation was ace....your enthusiasm for your job comes across so well in your posts here, that I am sure it was even more impressive in reality.
Lame Wolf....Mabon blessings to you too, hope that you have a good day.
PP....sorry to hear that you are unwell at present, nice to hear from you.
Ruby...hugs to DD.
Not done any of my knitting for 2 days, need to buck up or schedule will be very askew.
Hugs to all I haven't mentioned who may be in need of one....might do a row or 2 before bed.....to lessen guilt.

The chimney sweep cleaned me out today (literally) - I think we might have to old style the chimneys next autumn, although at 21 I think my baby's a little too large for me to send up there (and perhaps that's an old-style too far)!
So there we go, officially have £2.74 in my purse till the end of the month. Anyone like to join me in empty cofferdom? :wave:Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!
