Morning all.....................((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))0 if you need one.

Its very dull and dank out this morning, OH has just rung the depot to arrange another gasrden waste collection, they said its raining in Macmerry which is just up the road, o guess its heading our way, groan.....

I have to cook a chicken with apricots and brandy casserole this morning for supper Friday, after a day trawling round the quilt show I want something I can just shove in the oven to reheat. Also want to cook the meat for a shepherds pie and possibly also a stew for when DD1 is here.

Quilting group this afternoon and a trip to Aldi afterwards to stock up with some stuff. Can do either an Asda or Tesco shop when DD is here, she will come with me. Taking knitting with me to do this afternoon, knitting OH a ski type hat which I am going to line with fleece.

I am getting excited, my freind arrives tomorrow evening....hooray!!!! It will be so good to see her, I do miss our Saturday chats.........its different on the end of the phone, no tea and cake for a start.

OH is out starting to put the back garden to bed. When we get back from our trip I need to empty all the containers and plant the bulbs we dug up in the spring along with the new ones I bought, I am also going to plant tete a tete along the front of the house in the border. The grass seed that OH planted has taken ok, just a few little bits that can ge re=seeded in the spring, it had its first haircut yesterday with the garden shears, its too fragile to use the mower on, needs a bit longer to grow before its subjected to that experience.

Right offsky to do some cooking, hope it turnes out better than yesterdays sponge cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

  • Hi all
Been MIA again as DS having major probs at school, does not know what to do at playtimes and sits on his own feeling lonely, not coping with lunchtimes as other children sitting too close and he is worried about germs going on his food/or people touching his food. The SENCO and teacher and one to one trying to sort him out.
As a result have had no sleep for 3 nights as he is stressed out and flappy:o
OH off work with man flu:o
Have put some clothes in WM, making chicken pie for tea.
Trying not to spend much at the moment as all spare money going into wedding.
JackieG hugs to you hun, have been struggling with the BD myself this week and also took myself off to hide away in bedroom early the last couple of nights. Hang on in there x

Morning all :) Hope you are all well.

Skogafoss - it's 62 m high (one of the camp grounds was 20 m from the falls, so it was nice to wake up to!)

    DSC01651.jpg

On the glaciers in Skaftefell (we got to climb these (ice axes and crampons type walking), it was very cool!)

    DSC01607.jpg

Glacier lagoon (there were seals in this!)

    DSC01585.jpg

    sunsets!

I have loads of photos - one of the things they don't bring home is the sheer scale of all these things! I also like the fact they let you climb on it - in this country it would be roped off for H+S reasons - here they just tell you not to fall off the edge!

JackieG - hope you are feeling better today :)

We have the electrician coming today at home, but the letting agent is going to have to send a plumber and a tiler as well. This all disproves my Dad's theory that "well, if you don't touch it it wouldn't be broken" as we were away at the time. Our net connection at home is broken as well, but Plusnet are being great in trying to sort it out.

Dinner last night was fish for OH and one of those Linda mCcartney pies for me - oh and it was horrible"! I haven't had them for years and I thought it was gross (shudders a little bit). For something vegaterian to taste like a cheap meat pie is a very odd concept. Not impressed - back to tofu it is!

Dinner tonight will be gammon for OH and cauliflower cheese for me. Gammon is in the slow cooker and should last a while if I carve it up and freeze it. Tomorrow I am at a conference dinner in one of the colleges (one of those "errm, which fork is mine?" type dinners - fruit knives and finger bowls as well). I always feel out of place (being so very very junior) but I'm sure it will be fine.

Have a good day all, cel x

  • Morning all

I have been washing since 6.30am and have finally put the last load on the line.

Gorgeous day it's like Summer so warm and bright - but I understand that it is all going down hill from tomorrow :( so I am off to the market this afternoon (yes I am taking DD just in case of another breakdown:rotfl: )

NPM.... Sorry to hear that DS is going through it at the moment - is he in a main stream school? if he is, with his problems he must surely qualify for a special school that is better catered for his needs. (((((Hugs))))) and try to have a few naps when you can just to boost your batteries.

Redruby (((((Hugs))))) for DD she might have an ear infection and that can really make you poorly.

    jackieG :grouphug:

    celyn..... How beautiful

Well I am off to grab a quick spot of lunch and then off to market :)

Hope everyone's days have sparkles of light x

  • Hi DD:D

yes that is what they are trying this week, the buddy thing. It seems to be working. There is one particular boy I want kept away from DS as much as poss. DS thinks this boy is his friend but he has simply singled DS out as an easy target to wind up and get a reaction from. I never though my 7 year old would say he wants to kill himself because of the autism:(.

Wedding planning coming on ok....just wish it would come so we can put money towards getting rid of debts instead of paying for wedding:o. I am not putting any of it on my card though and it is a cheap wedding compared to others.
Hope DS2s hosp appt goes ok and DS3 has a whale of a time at Legoland:T
