Does DLA, IS, CB, HB, CT, CTC count as income for child tax credit in 2011 ?
DLA Adult - £191.20 a month (me)
DLA Child - £247.33 a month (my son)
IS - £588.40 a month
CB - £81.20 a month
CTC - £217.22 a month
HB - £527.80 a month
CT - £84.60 a month
Total - £1937.75 per month
Forget to add one more as I do have SDA (severe disabled allowance) benefit that pay me £312 a month
So, a total month of £2249.75 a month
You also state in a different post that you would rather not work as you get more from being on benefit. I don't think you are a friend to this person at all, and if you are then you are not a very good one!
I think the 'friend' in question might be the OP. Her figures above do not add up, as I stated above, the amount of SDA paid is only the difference between IS/IB/ESA and the minimum amount legally required to live on for a severely disabled person. Perhaps the OP wanted to find out ways to claim for it after hearing about it somewhere.;)0 -

What is SDA?
PP
He does not sign. People understand him when he talks, we spent many years going to speach therapy and he is good at talking.0 -
SDA is Severe Disablement Allowance. If I recall correctly, I received it because of being on DLA Middle Rate - Care Allowance and not having a live in carer - although, I do have a carer who comes in on a daily basis.
Sorry that I cannot give you more information but I can't remember anymore about it. Although, I don't receive the amount that the OP is talking about, mine is much lower, about a third.
You appear to be referring to the Severe Disability Premium.Gone ... or have I?0 -
SDA (severe disablement allowance) was paid up April 2001, but effectively ended in 2000, for all new claimants. Anyone in receipt of SDA prior to that date could carry on recieving it providing they still met the requirements. To claim SDA there was and never has been a requirement for the claimant NOT to have a live in carer. The criteria for SDA was that you had to be aged between 16 and 64, and be classed as 80% disabled, unable to work because of your illness, or capable of doing only certain work because of your illness.
Somewhere along the line, being awarded middle rate care or above entitled you to SDA, and depending on your age, a premium was added.
There seems to be some confusion as to what benefit the OP was referring to, and I hope this has helped.0 -

See i thought income support was income dependent so how can flight747 earn that much a month without the income support being reduced....
You earn more than my hubby and I, hubby working full time and me on disability benefits, does go to show doesn't it that the current system doesn't encourage working...I can see why i get so much flack for taking disability benefit they probably think i'm on what you're on....0 -
