What a busy place today! Congratulations Celyn - I take it you said yes!
JackieG - think of all the good things you have in life and build on those. Things may seem dark at the moment so have time to yourself if you need it or have a good chat/moan to someone (they wont mind cos everyone has low days). Most of all remember to take care of yourself. XX

Well done to Ms Tru and sorry Mr Tru will be losing his job. JackieO, I hope your arm is better after all your bandages and well done for not giving in to the unsavoury character you met.

Also hugs to anyone I have missed and also for anyone feeling a bit down or poorly.

Had an interesting day at work - how much drama can there be in such a small place?! Still the children are all ok, it just seems to be the staff who are bonkers. Went to the library on the way home - it must be about 10 years since I have been but needs must, it is a free service and we haven't any money to spare. Will definitely keep on using it now as the staff there were lovely even though they must know how long it is since I've been!!

Put the washing on racks inside today but it probably would have dried outside. Tea was pasta with HM tomato sauce with peppers and onions followed by a weetabix brownie (made them yesterday but not too keen). Feel the need to do something creative tonight so will go and find something.

    Take care all. XX

Tru - Well done to Miss Tru and sorry about Mr Tru's job. If you get desperate I'll send you a bag of Sainsbury's finest Basics Choc Buttons, only 35p for 70g ;)

Snoozer - well done on your stone :D

The new house is starting to feel a bit more like home. The garden is huge and teeming with interesting visitors. I am delighted to report the garden still has Bats:j many a happy dusk spent watching them.

My DW is currently visiting her parents for a couple of days. I am going to start the Christmas cake tomorrow evening. Should have been tonight but i had a shopping malfunction and didn't buy everything I needed:o

QOUTE[ If you do the Secondary PGCE ...........You don't necessarily need a degree if you can prove your ability

I am sorry to be a pedant but your information is not correct. See www.tda.gov.uk PGCE/what qualifications do I need.

There are exceptions but these are very rare. Just to check I rang my Sister in law who is head of a PGCE course(in England) She said all of her students have a degree. In fact the Government are making the minimum qualification for a PGCE a 2.2.

As a former teacher(from a very long line of teachers) I just want to wish anyone undertaking a PGCE good luck and best wishes.:T

Also, any ideas on how I can use Fresh greengages (sorry) we have six trees groaning with fruit at the moment.

Well I am off to make sure I have everythig I need for the C. Cake(except the bits I forgot:D)

    Hope everyone is well.

Flutterbyuk25 hope you are not offended.

Welcome to all newbies and returners:wave:

Curlytop....... positive vibes sent for you hun x

Sorry about Mr tru's job but glad to hear that Miss tru has found something ((((Hugs)))) I know it is pride but he is entitled to every penny of the joke they call JSA - plus it will free you from paying council tax which is a huge burden when money is tight.

Well done snoozer on the weight loss I have put all but 7lbs back on

JackieO.... I am so glad you didn't fall for that woman's ruse and you really should have reported it to security; they could have kept an eye on her - sadly not all older people are as worldly wise as you are (((((Hugs)))))

Gorgeous warm day today and tomorrow is forecast up to 25C :) So I will get all the washing done and on the line.

jackieG...... Buck up lass ((((((((Hugs))))))) it doesn't matter what you put .......All of your friends on this board will understand and give you some hugs and probably a few giggles along the way.
I will start......... Went to town with DD this afternoon and ran out of charge half a mile before home and DD ended up pushing me all the way home:o luckily it is down hill but that is the first time it has ever happened so methinks I might need to buy a new battery if this one isn't holding the charge. We giggled all the way though :rotfl:

Still no phone call from the hospital for my fitting so am really not amused.

FIL popped round with a carrier bag full of apples and some cucumbers from the garden, he is 83 but you would never believe it to look at him he looks 60 and acts 12 :rotfl:MIL was worried and phoned me because he told her that he was coming straight to me but he made a detour to the Doctor without telling her so I think he was gonna get his bum kicked good and proper when he went home.

Just shared some walnut whips with DD and DS Nom Nom Nom :D I so lurv poundland.

Well I am off for a shower and then get in my jammies and relax for the rest of the night.

    Sweet Dreams all x

  • Hello All,

JackieG send your BD over here s/he can play with mine and maybe then leave us both alone, your in my prayers hun.

Big Huggles to everyone else whether you want them or not..:p

Today has been painful for me again but I am doing as the doc tells me, taking the meds when I need them and sitting on my bum. The nausea I find is easing as I am eating regular meals today and not avoiding food for fear of pain like yesterday. (apologies for posting a medical q on the board i didn't realise) <... silly me. :o

Anyway I have checked off everything on today's little list. Made some calls, arranged a telephone appointment with my CMHT advisor and also had one with the nurse at work. Got re-assured by work to rest and not rush myself the nurse was fab about my gallstones and I am finding it easier to open up to her about my depression too. :)

I got 21 parcels sent off from the eBay free listing weekend and worked out after all charges I made about £54. Very Happy :T

I defrosted a piece of gammon I had picked up as a whoopsie and cooked it and also made a yummy flapjack/fruity cereal bar thing to go in the oven at the same time. It has only 2tbsps of oil in the whole thing and i have got 24 servings out of it. It is very yummy, slighty gummy but sweet and stuffed with apple, apricot and sultanas = Heaven!

I also made a good start in finishing some work for my support group which I had been sitting on for a while.

So all in all a painful but productive day.

Healthy fruity cereal bar things all round - Nom, Nom, Noms

    Hi all,
Is this the right place to say hello? You all seem very friendly - am hoping to pick up some more tips & share some ideas rather than skulking about as I have for the last year or so - sorry!

I wasn't necessarily referring to the secondary PGCE in my post (apologies if it read that way). For the Post 16 PGCE that I am studying you do not need a degree, more than half my class of 22 students don't have a degree. The Post 16 PGCE can be used to teach in schools at the discretion of the head teacher.
