Morning all
Welcome newbies!
I think it's going to be a nice day here, it's a tad grey but sun is breaking through. WM will hopefully go on again today. DW needs to go on too. I didn't end up batch cooking yesterday so maybe I will do some tonight.
I have no plans for today yet
I think I may go have a look for some furniture this afternoon, but I quite fancy just hopping in the car and seeing where I end up! But it's back to bed with a cuppa and a book first

When I worked at summer camp in the US our standard greeting was a high five
and when we all meet up it's high five's all over!
Have a great day all

Morning All ,
JackieO - hope the arm soon gets better
essex-girl - good luck with the course
Curlytop40 - good luck on your 2ww xx
Skylarker - welcome!
Well I'm back to the grindstone after being totally spolit over the last few days! People, I can thoroughly recommend turning 30
On Sunday, we were having the usual roast dinner so a fair bit of veg and meat was leftover, which my Mum or I cook up into bubble and squeak on the Monday. My Nan pipes up with, what are you going to do with that and I told her, to which she said, oh no, I always chuck leftover food away :eek::eek: I couldn't believe it! She's one of 13 and came from an extremely poor family so me and Mum were gobsmacked to say the least!
OS wise was all a bit of a rush this morning so I need to think of something to do for dinner - I always do this! Wasn't in the mood for meal planning the other week so I didn't, but now I have a load of stuff in the freezer, but have to think of something every morning before I go out! Note to self - ALWAYS PLAN!!!
Hope everyone is ok, hugs to all in need/want xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,

Morning all.................................(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one......
Its a fine morning, I wonder if its going to be as nice as yesterday??? I have a less busy day today, OH will be in the garden this morning and bowling this afternoon, so I need to get into the sewing room and straighten it up, lots of stuff hanging around. I also need to do my meal plan for October, I have done it up to DD1 going home, but an Aldi shop tomorrow so need to get my butt into gear.
I washed a load of OH's jumpers yesterday, I have had them on the airer , going to put them on the line to finieh off and can then press them later and put them away.
We started yesterday putting clothes on one side for our trip next week, kust now they are on the chair in the guest room, will move them into the sewing room one I have tided it.
DS1 phoned last night, he wants to fix up a meeting whilst we are down, but he is on hoiday on the Thursday flying out to join a cruise ship in the med, waiting for another phone call from him to see if he has managed to sort something out.
Think I will take some mince and chicken out of the freezer and defrost it, I can cook it tomorrow to do chicken and apricots in brandy to re-heat on Friday when we get back from the quilt show and mince for a shepherds pie for when DD1 and SIL are here, I will just have to put the mash on the top if I re-freeze it in the dish I am going to cook it in.
It was quite cold last night the window in our bedroom had condensation on it........
Right offsky to get on...............see y'all later..........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning my lovelies

Misty here with the sun trying to break through which is nice and autumnal
Just seen my friend at school who's given me a load of cooking apples from their tree
Her husband was going to chuck them in the bin until I asked her if she'd got any going spare. Am going to split them with my mum - I do love free food
Cue me looking for lots of recipes involving apples LOL!
Chicken curry is currently in the SC for tea tonight and I want to make a cinnamon (sp?) and nutella cake - not tried it before so I hope it's a nice as it sounds <drools>

celyn90 Congratulations, that's fabulous news:j:j:j
Just dropped the boys off at school, so i'm having a well earned cup of tea.
So my day today consists off making snacks / meals out of a bag of gram flour that needs using. Hopefully i'll be able to make a few different things for pack lunches and meals.
OH hasn't realised how bad the finances are as he forget we had to pay rent, so he's becoming more and more stressed out. so i told him to just let me worry about it. Said to him were not going to starve and we'll just eat everything out of the freezer/fridge and see how it goes from there.
We have £120 owed to us at the end of the month so just need to find another £260 for the rent.So if i can feed us using what we already have in for the next two weeks, fingers crossed we should be on an even keel. His wages should cover the bills, i hope, so we should be okay.
Going off for a mooch in the grocery challenge.0 -

am looking forward to 2 days off. Not sure what I'm doing with them yet apart from this morning I'm off into town for coffee and cake with Mum at the W.I. country market.

DS2 will need taking to work and DS1 is popping round as he has the dentist before he does his radio show.
think I'll do a quorn sweet and tea, not sure what the chaps will want.
Redruby - where does your Auntie come from?

Morning folks,Hugs to all those in need, feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything today so took a day off to try and sort things into some order of assemblance, I just cant seem to be bothered with anything and anyone just now. Need to get housework done this morning - I have never seen the place so untidy or needing cleaned in a long time, and this afternoon I must do some accounts for hubby, these have slipped by the wayside too to the stage I cant really face them - a good kick up the butt is what I need, so I will have ten mins on here then first thing will be a black binbag dance and everything lying about will be binned in two mins flat!!! The weather is mild but drizzley so will chuck things in the TD today to get them done and out of the way. Tea tonight will be mince and tatties, made into a cottage pie Its all prepared from a previous batch cooking stint,
my timetable, for today is 10.30 - 12noon housework - including stripping beds 12-1 meeting my dad for lunch, dont like putting this off as its been a routine since my mum died 1-3 sorting out mail, and starting the accounts 3-4 stick tea on in oven, shower and get ready for the gym, 4-6 head the 18 miles to go to the gym, do my workout and head home. 6-6.45 teatime, and clear up dishes 7-8 ironing and put away the past three weeks that is still sitting out!!! 8-9 menu plan, order and make further timetables until I get back onto an even keel - hopefully seeing this in black and white will help me focus.
Hope you all have a good day,Every days a School day!0 -
I'm new and wondering if I can join all you lovelies.
Trying very hard to be more OS with food as got into V bad habit of daily buying food in m&s!
But last night had HM chicken soup and HM bread rolls from a recipe I got here which were brill!!
Tonight, dont know yet, I am not yet very organised and tend not to be very prepared for meals as I work quite long hours as does OH, but as they say 'where there's a will there's a way' so I'm hoping I'll get better following the inspiration from these boards.
Sorry for gabbing away for too long, bad habit I have!

Morning all
Nice & sunny here, so washing now on line. Been up hours, but a mad morning here! Friend took DS to nursery as I had to wait for 'phone repair man, so have made some almond surprise buns as school is doing Macmillan coffee morning & wants buns to serve/sell.
Last couple of days have been quite good OS-wise: cleaned bathroom (really manky!), hoovered stairs & upstairs rooms, made hobnobs, just about cleared ironing, nearly cleared dining table (only cos I want to start making Christmas cards! :rotfl:)
Baby having a brief morning nap, so I'm having a mini break too!
Spent very little since Saturday, pleased with myself! Bought one or two Christmas presents, but were inexpensive, will just cost a little time in transforming them into the actual gifts IYSWIM. (Next tea towels & wooden words from Home Bargains).
Buns ready now, so TTFN & see you later. Have a lovely day, all, hugs, kisses, high fives as you need 'em!
