Hi there! :jjackieglasgow wrote: »Morning All!
A bitgrey here this morning but not too cold. Welsome to all the newbies and returners from the last couple of days, I seem to have misplaced my manners somewhere
OH is at home this morning so we are going out for a wee while. I need to go buy DS1 a school sweater as his from last year is too small now, he's grown an inch or so in the last month  and then my lovely husband is taking me for lunch, not OS at all but we very rarely do this
I was very down yesterday and took to my bed at 7pm, so hopefully I'll have a bit more spring in my step today.
Washing just to go on this morning, and packups to put in bags and that's the limit of OSiness in here.
Hope you all have a lovely day, hugs where needed, and as coldstreamalways so nicely said, high fives where needed. That made me smile, we should all high five each other every morning

I am also in grey glasgow this morning. Live in west end of city and was wondering if you would know a good bramble picking site that is not too close to main roads? Have car, will travel!
I get my new breadmaker next week and want to start looking for fruit for jam!
Would be great if you or anyone else in here could point to the right area to get some. thanks :wave:In the middle of difficulty lies oppurtunity0 -

GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I am seriously hacked off.
I decided to bake scones and a victoria sponge this morning using the pany convection micro.....scones fine......I have a deep, loose bottom cake tin 71/2" so following Mary Berry's fast cake book 4 ozs flour etc.....beat for 2 minutes, check......bake at 180 for 25 minutes check, it has risen a bit but not as much as I would like......for heavens sake I used to make dozens of 10" gateaux's for our open days, I cannot make a simple sponge and get it a decent size. I waqs trawling through my memory' I am sure I used to use 1 oz to an inch of the tin so for a 10" tin 10 ozs etc......I am wondering if I need to use more mixture to get a deeper cake.....I cannot use 2 tiins in the pany, its not big enough; my big oven costs too much to put it on for just a couple of sandwich tins. 7 1/2" is a funny size I might have another go tomorrow when I have been to Aldi to get more margarine, the trouble is if you put too much mixture in the tin the top of the cake cracks........another thing I noticed when I took the cake out of the tin the centre piece about 3" in diameter was very plae, so I probably could have done with baking it a wee bit longer, I use the nonstick linings in my cake tins, that may be the cause. I know when I cook scones in the round I take them out of the tin for the last 5 minutes and turn them upside down so the bottom browns. Its maddening.......especially as cake were my speciallity!!!Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
