£165 cashback on Virgin Media

  • Hi,

I'm just about to move and was planning on using Virgin Media anyway so this has come at a perfect time.

I signed up for Quidco but not having used it before I proceeded a little apprehensively, I found the virgin cashback offer and clicked "Get offer" which popped up a new window which then loaded the virgin media site. I proceeded to complete an order for L Broadband, XL TV (with V+, ESPN and catch up on demand) and M Phone, this came to 47 pounds with a one off fee of 49 pounds.

The order completed about 30 minutes ago and I've not seen anything appear in the transactions section of my quidco account, is this normal?
Have I missed out on something?

    Any advice gratefully appreciated
    Nick

Can take some days to appear in your account. Should track within the week though I think for Virgin.
  • No it wouldn't work out like that, to pay £23 for the tv package you'll also have to take out a phone line @ £11.99 a month, it doesn't matter that the household already has one.

So £23 + £11.99 = £34.99 per month, add to that sky sports 1+2 which are £14.50 each you're total is £63.99 a month. You'll still have to pay for install which you can get for £20 if you self install.

You'd be better off having the Tv only @ £29 per month, sky sports collection @ £22.50 per month. Total is £51.50 per month. Add £20 for self install and your annual cost is £618 - £165 quidco = £453 devide by 12 = £37.75 pm

    Hi scoobyvirgin

Really well worked out. I really apprecaite your calculation, you can tell I'm a noob this lol :-)

However I did have one question; instead of having Sky Sports whole package (What If just get Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 only) would it be cheaper that way? And isn't that included in the £29 a month offer?

    Thanks in advance.

  • I was just too impatient...

It appeared about 45mins to track, I assume it's just a case of waiting now???

Thanks to the original poster :)
  • I am moving into a house next week which we know from the vendor already has Virgin Media installed(they will have cancelled contract). So I could sign up as a new customer and take phone line and broadband and then get £165 cashback, guess I could ring them after to try and get the £40 waived.

    Thanks in advance
  • Really interested in this offer... problem is I dont have a moving date for our new house!!! Were meant to be exchanging contracts early part of next week, and there is no chain so its hoped I could be in the house end of next week!

Can you choose an installation date or is it as and when Virgin want to do it?

it gives you a choice of dates but for me it was only dates next week, i kinda wanted it a bit further away since im with sky for another 30 days anyway but ended up going for it as not sure how long this cashback deal would be on for. You could call them or talk to them on the chat thing on the website and ask if you can call after you've placed the order and choose a later install date?

The £165 cashback is as far as I know until midnight tomorrow, Friday, just checked & it's only until 5pm tomorrow.
Mine's been validated, hopefully that means I passed the credit check.
Does anyine know whether they would validate it & then still turn me down please?
