If the CAB have agreed to help you then I am surprised that they do not want this correspondence for their files.

Our advisor told us to send copies of everything to her so that she knew exactly what was going on. On this basis she wrote 6 letters of complaint to variuos companies for harassment and got apologies for us from all of them.

Maybe we were just very lucky that we got an advisor who cared as well as doing a job?
Sounds to me like we bummed out with the CAB advisor. We were told that we could go back for further advice but got the feeling that was the end of our relationship with the guy we'd seen twice. He wished us luck and said goodbye! He certainly didn't offer any ongoing support. Perhaps we sould contact CCCS?
In 2010 I would like money left at the end the month rather than more month left at the end of the money!!

Yeah it does a bit. Only sorry that he was not as much help as ours.

Probably best to see if someone else is more help.CCCS & payplan have been mentioned on here but I had not heard of them til I started posting so you`ll have to get a recommendation from one of the other good guys on here .
Best of luck . If I can help any other way, just keep asking:beer:

EDIT Just thought - our first appointment at CAB was with one of the volunteer advisors. The money advice unit was given all the info later on. Maybe you need to get back on to the bureau to see where you go next??

    Hi Whoops,

We were in a similar situation with house, secured loans and credit cards, mainly due to trying to turn a loss making business around. When we were at the stage you're at now we just "battoned down the hatches" ignored the phone (unless one of us felt argumentative) dumped the post, stopped paying anybody and everybody, with the exception of utilities and food, and waited for the whole mess to implode / explode.

We found that CCCS were worth talking to, if only for reassurance, and they also recommend talking to their sister charity for small businesses, can't remember the name but I''m sure they'll mention it if you have business interests.

Apologies for such a short post and I'll watch out for you tomorrow and over the weekend. I guess the most important thing we can say is:

"stay calm, stay focused, believe that you will get over this, don't run out of alcohol and very quickly you'll be looking back at this thinking, why did we worry so much?"

All the very best wishes for the future,

    Rich & Jane xx

    Hi R & J

This thread is sooooooooo comforting. Still can't believe we've got to leave our lovely house and just sitting here watching our lives implode around us is horrible. We're wishing our lives away till it's all over. Thanks for your support and well wishes. After yours and tightjocks comments we are defo going to ring CCCS - are they open at the weekend?

  • Just a quick post to remind anyone who reads these threads without posting, lurkers, people who honestly need help and advice and do get it from this thread.
There are people on the very edge, and for all you know your post may be the one that brings someone back from the edge, or indeed tips them over. Please remember this.

The point of the BCSC club is for us all to get together and give honest, unbiased, helpful and supportive advice.

This is not an area for any negative comments.

Thanks to all those who do support this club.

Technically you should declare it, as it is a bank account of sorts. However, if you also explain the reason that you have it, and what the money in it is for, the OR shouldnt have a problem with it.

  • I want to put my BCSC number at the bottom of my posts (signature??) but I don't know how to do it. Can anyone help please?
  • hi bizzylizzy

If you go to 'quick links' there is a signature option. Edit your signature to say what you want. Next time you post, make sure 'show your signature' is ticked in the miscellaneous options of the posting form, then it will be displayed.

Give it a go, and if it doesn't work, let me/us know.

  • Ben had a phonecall today at 8.41am. Lloyds. Informed them of bankruptcy, and gave all details as requested.

I phoned them straight after, to inform them that I also am bankrupt (so they don't chase me for our joint debt).

15.43 - Phone call from Lloyds! I said to him that we had already spoken to them that day. Really? I'll check the notes. YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT BEFORE YOU CALLED ME! Oh, well we check security details before we view the account.

The fun and games has begun, but I am still smiling. ORs office reckon 2-3 weeks before we will receive correspondance from them, so I reckon notices to creditors might not be sent for a few weeks yet.

    Hope you are all well

Keep smiling - the contact calls will dry up:j

I think it may be as long as 6-8 weeks before all creditors letters go out. It depends on how busy they are. Having seen the numbers going bankrupt recently I would think they are pretty busy at the mo`.
