Hi all, bit of a longshot question but has anyone gone bankrupt in Portsmouth??

My H and I went for a quick drive today so that I know where I'm going on Tuesday - got very confused and we're still not 100% sure if its the right palce - I'm going to phone them tomorrow to check but thought I'd ask on here as well!!

I'm getting quite nervous now - but also know what a huge relief it will be once done! Silly really!

Just to say good luck for Tuesday, my turn on Wednesday so I know how you're feeling ( ).
Let us know how you get on.
  • I thought I would share some news with you all!

On Tuesday I have an interview for a new job! I am in Durham in the North and the interview is in Manchester! Have to be there for Noon, and expect to leave about 8pm! They do a seminar and interview combined. Am in no competition for a job, it just depends whether I wow them or not!

Should be fun - I haven't had an interview for a job since I went to University! Out of practice isn't in it.

The job is in finance, would you believe! Have checked with the FSA that my 100% Full & Final IVA will not stop me from being authorised to practice, and have spoken with my IP, and both say that it is not a problem. The Company are okay with it too. So, it is down to me now!

If I am offered the job I have to sign the contract there and then. So, by Wednesday I should be part of the workforce once again!

    What fun!

Well done on getting an interview! Hope it goes well:)

I am hoping to get some good news on the work front myself next week, but too early to call, so I'll keep you posted.

  • Thankyou for all the replies to my queries

can anyone advise me how to stop my accountant receiving correspondance on my behalf from the inland revenue, basically stop him being my accountant? i signed a form around 2 years ago to inland revenue to send correspondance to them. but i want to totally stop dealing with them due to what i explained early.

my main accountant seems like a nice chap, it's actually an assistant that started work there who is the problem. however if i dont need an accountant, even better.

Sandra, do you do your account yourself? does this mean im wasting money on a accountant? and can do my own records? because basically i do most of the records and it seems he just checks them over and charges me, in my mind quite abit for check my addition and subtraction! :)

It is a massive relief when you've got the court bit out the way! I found it pretty daunting myself, and was quivering through the interview lol, but got there in the end. :)

First of all send a letter to the Inland Revenue and tell them that you no longer employ an Accountant and to please remove his details from the system, sending all future correspondence to yourself.
Then, when you complete your tax return in April, the details for an accountant will be just left blank.

I do all my accounts myself. Yes you are wasting money!

Your business seems to be quite straightforward - cash in, then expenses out. These are not difficult to do.

I will tell you this - if you have any problem at all in completing your tax return, all you do is to make an appointment with your local tax office and someone there will help you do this - FREE OF CHARGE!!

If you do this, then submit your tax return online, before 31st December in each financial year - the computerised system will tell you immediately how much money you are due to pay, including national insurance contributions.

    I hope this helps.
