This reasonably normal person got home from work at 7, signed back in and was still working until 11

I must be sooooooo stupid as they are making me redundant in April

Oh no..... hope you get a nice payoff and find something else in the meantime. Think in that scenario I'd be doing as little as I could possibly get away with.

Doing as little as poss would be nice, but the very nice payoff depends on us hitting certain targets :(

I am planning on having a month or two off :D so haven't started looking yet.

I'm so sorry to hear that Maty xx

Any chance of becoming self employed? not that i think i should advocate it.....................

There is no such thing as a safe job, or a job for life. I suppose i've not done too badly to survive for so long. All i need, is paying.......

That reminds me, must check my tyre pressures - wrong pressures can add to fuel consumption, apparently. And wash the thing - now, do I get the bucket and sponge out or take it to the £2 a go car wash? Decisions, decisions....

You could'nt just pop round and wash mine while you're at it, could you, please? Its 3 months since its been washed and polished. Mind you, its still in reasonably pristine condition. Aargh i should'nt tempt fate.

Thank you for your kind thoughts :)

I'm not brave enough to go self employed :( I need the security of a regular wage to cover the mortgage and it would take too long to build up enough customers. The laugh is I collect debt so I could probably help you out NoHope!

We are being outsourced to a different country so I have been busy training people for the last few weeks.

I am hoping to take a lower based position, doing something financial closer to home, so I can achieve my dream of getting a dog :D I am quite looking forward to it but will be happier once I am settled.

Maybe it does say alot about a person who is self employed, they must be mad, ( only joking ). When you think about it, at the head of most businesses, is someone who is self employed, some more successful than others.

It must be frustrating training people to do your job, Maty. I think thats quite indicative of whats happening in this economic climate.

I would love a dog, for a companion. Unconditional love. I've been considering this for years, but its just totally impratical. One, i can't afford to feed myself, let alone a dog, and two, i work such long unsociable hours, and sometimes for long periods i work away from home, too. It just would'nt be fair leaving a pet, ' home alone ' all day. It would get plenty of long walks, though, at times. Its staggering to think that people pay more to feed their pets, than the amount of money i spend on food for myself, each week.

I had an old english, many years ago. She was sweetheart, a cross with a labrador, but looked 100% old english, with such a lovely temperament. She broke my heart as she grew older, because when she was a puppy, my ex was taking her for a walk, and apparently she shot off the lead and across the road, into the path of an oncoming car. At that time we had zero money, ( so nothing ever changes there ), and our local vet took pity on us, and pieced her back together again for no charge, put metal plates in her hips, etc. I can't imagine the vet doing that now. Maybe they would, i don't know.

But as she got older it broke my heart to see her in pain with arthiritis, ( just like the rest of us, then), its bound to have affected the pain in her joints, until i eventually had her put down, as i could stand it no more. If i remember, i think her kidneys or liver were failing as well, and she used to struggle onto the settee, as it was obviously more comfortable than lying on the floor. She lived a good long while though, around 13 years old, when i put a halt to her suffering, ( my ex would'nt agree).

Off to get ready for work now xx
