Hey, are you a Forest or County supporter?

Both my parents were originally from Nottingham, and saturday teatimes were always about football, in those days. And the 'pools.' :D And 'spot the ball.' My mum supported Forest and my dad supported County. :rotfl:

Hi Ani, sorry to disappoint but I don't actually like football!! I always know when Forest are playing at home though as I am not that far away from the Forest grounds and can hear the chanting and cheering from my house!

I was born in Leicestershire originally but moved to Nottingham for my job, I enjoy living where I do though as I can look at the canal out of my windows.

Ah well, never mind. I don't follow football these days either, although in my youth, i was fanatical, sorry, an avid supporter.

    Ah the river trent. :D

Computer bought and f & c consumed, ( although it took me almost an hour to consume the smallest portion of f & c. :o) Back to healthy eating today, chick peas and spinach, the food of choice, at the moment.

Urghh. I've been awake since 4 am. Probably because i'm so tired, i generally sleep all evening. Still don't have any problems getting to sleep in terms of being tired, ( although pain is sometimes a problem.)

I was just musing on this

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind

    It's very true.

Looking around now, i suppose i can't complain. I'm potentially in a "better" place than most. It's all so easy to become obsessed by or with money. Money rules our lives or the way in which we live? I know this is a money saving site. Seeing the amounts of money some people owe, is frightening. I took the easy option. It wasn't easy and i had no option. I guess it's a fact of life in the soceity in which we now live. Expectations have changed somewhere along the way? We have to own this or that? We have to look like this or that? We have to be this or that? We have to achieve this or that? Do we actually have to do anything? Or only because it's expected of us. Or we expect it of ourself. The whole keeping up appearances thing. The creation of wealth. Life is only of any meaning or value in knowledge to you, if you realise. What i'm talking about?

It won't be that long now, before i'm truly not in debt. I don't think of myself as being in debt, as i have very little, but i'm managing what i have. Apart from a small debt to they who don't listen to reason. My appeals are still ongoing, ( i don't think about them for the most part.) But despite paying back actually a substantial amount of debt which wasn't debt in the first place, i'm still left with a debt of £144. I don't want this hanging over my potential debtfreeness but i'm not going to pay it a) because they have put collection on hold, ( largely because they can't collect from someone who has nothing,) and b) because it wasn't owed and not a debt in the first place.Very frustrating to have 100 quid hanging above me. 100 quid is alot of money to someone who has nothing. I want a truly clean slate. Maybe i should make some more noises about appeals, although i've now stepped away from anything which gives me even the smallest amount of stress. Which, unfortunately, is most things.

Apart from that, i guess i AM lucky to have this place. It's in a pleasant enough area. Although i still feel there are those in the community who judge someone they know nothing about, there are one or two kind souls. Like my plant supplier and the wc. I don't have to worry about the upkeep of the building. My former "home" would have just fallen down around me, as i will undoubtedly struggle on the state pension. At least you potentially get more help if you don't own your own home? I still don't like to use the word "home." To me it's now a very transient "thing." Very controversial. There are those who think you should only be housed in ha for a short period of time. Then move on. To where? The graveyard? You can't predict anyones circumstances. Or judge, for that matter. How many times do you hear people say oh that person is so negative, i'm not going to help them. Someone has to help them? It's humanity?

Some of my shelves fell down in my kitchen (new kitchen, :rotfl:) yesterday. No problem. All it requires is one phonecall, and more belongings on my living room floor, yet again. I no longer have to worry about the upkeep and even replacing of new boilers, ( although i too, had that problem in my former "home.") However, i received a letter yesterday informing me of an increase in rent. Now that is always going to be my main worry. It doesn't matter where you live. Unless you own property outright, you need the money to pay the rent. And the council tax. Those are the real needs and not wants, in life. Having somewhere to live?

Hi Ani stroke affected my left side. doing things one handed is difficult. most things seem to take an age and gettin underwear on is a bit hit and miss. I've discovered who my friends are - most surprising! and life has taken on a different perspective. not being able to get out is very claustrophobic and the all consuming tiredness which I'm told is common makes even simple tasks huge. DD1 took me out for a meal before I came home and it was a 'steak night' I just looked at it having no idea how I was going to eat it and then suffered the indignity of having my food cut up for me. glad you enjoyed your f & c

Wise words ani, those who care won't mind.

Judampre - sorry to hear the difficulties you are having. I was stuck in the home for 3 months due to a leg injury and I was physically unable to leave our home due to the high steps and the LL not caring that I was housebound.

Even going to the hospital for a checkup was exciting for me as I was finally getting out of the house!

Hugs to you as I understand how frustrating it all is.
