Thinking of you today Ani - some say the fear of the unknown is the hardest to deal with, at least knowing you can make your plan of attack - of course others say ignorance is bliss so I'll sit on the fence there and give you a hug instead xxFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Ah well. I've at least done one good deed for the day?
A neighbour who is in their late 70's and still working full time, is off work with an injury. They have no idea about claiming benefits. I've looked into this for them and found they could receive an extra £100 a week, if they bit the bullet and retired, plus heating allowances etc, etc. I didn't ask if they had a bus pass. I suspect not. Too proud?
It's a fact of life, many of the 'old timers' don't like to give up work. Even less, they are too embarrassed to dream of asking for help from the state, ( in their words.) I'm sure there are lots of 'old timers' who don't claim what they are entitled to. They just don't know or they would never dream of accepting help.
That's another argument, isn't it? Working hard all your life, for 60 years in this instance. There are many people who think pensioners shouldn't be given any assistance. Or respect? I think i'll go on a one person crusade, visiting all my elderly neighbours, showing them what they could be entitled to. That would be good fun.
Am i slightly unhinged today?
Respect your elders?
That's a thing of the past.
But you gotta have respect for my neighbour.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I think you have done a good deed. Unless someone wants to continue working past their retirement age why should they not receive back.what they have put in?0

That's really good of you Ani, they have been contributing to society all their lives in one way or another so it's great that you are helping them get what they are entitled to!0

Hey, are you a Forest or County supporter?
Both my parents were originally from Nottingham, and saturday teatimes were always about football, in those days. And the 'pools.'And 'spot the ball.' My mum supported Forest and my dad supported County. :rotfl:
Very working class? ( although they weren't.)
It's just how it was in those days? :rotfl:
Funny how you become more 'class' aware?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Live to work or work to live?
Now shockingly, i've probably always lived to work. My neighbour lives to work. They told me so. Because without it?
Now i have to work to live, and that's where the goalposts shift.
What proportion of people live to work v work to live?
I haven't had the proportionate amount of work / life balance.
I haven't been "living." It's all been work.
Come back to square one, just the minimum bare bones.
Relaxing with the present moment, relaxing with hopelessness, relaxing with death,
not resisting the fact that things end, that things pass, that things have no lasting substance,
that everything is changing all the time - that is the basic message.
