    Hi everyone,

I have missed the thread for a day or two - I couldn't find it yesterday for some reason and you have all been posting without me!

Nohope - you will have to keep guessing as to where I am, somewhere north of Watford and south of Newcastle. You sound quite positive and I agree with you firming up and being more assertive. I think it is very amusing to see the look on peoples faces when you stand up to them after a long history of put downs and verbal bullying.

I need to sort out my working hours when my boss gets back from his holiday. I said I would help out with a few hours extra when a member of staff walked out a few weeks ago but it is becoming like they assume that I am working X hours and not that it is a temporary favour. I quite enjoy a bit of free time in the day and wanted to volunteer to help in the Salvation Army lunch club that runs in my town.

I hope your week is a good one, in that you find a more varied menu than tinned tomatoes on toast ;) and that everything runs smoothly for you.

    Best wishes

I've just bought some more tinned tomatoes today. Still got more bills to pay, and more expenditure on ' car '.

So its been another ' bloody car' day. It seems to take all my energies and any spare ( such as it is ) cash, at the moment. Got it back, again today. Two new bolts and a shiny new alloy, yet again. I've got to say, its been excellent customer service, to say it was'nt my insurance company, apart from the fact they could have killed me............ You can be sure i'll be taking it to have the bolts checked again, once i've clocked up a few miles. Maybe not on a motorway, though. It feels good to be driving it today. Like an old glove. Try and convince myself its worth all the money thats been spent on it, that needs, spending on it. But me and car have survived. We've survived bankruptcy, car is one of the few possessions i have left, at the end of it all. So maybe i should start rekindling my interest in cars, and maybe join a car club. I was talking to a mechanic today, and he said how he takes his car to lots of car shows. I'm aware of the shows i could go to. I just can't afford it. I could'nt afford the luxury expenditure of petrol for pleasure, for starters. But maybe its something to think about. Who knows? He told me about valeting, where you can have your car polished inch by inch, for around £400. Of course he does'nt know i would never, ever be able to afford it, lol. I know people have an obsession with polishing and showing , but i've always had my pleasure from driving. I don't know. Maybe i should do something with like minded people, even if its only going on a pub meet. Not that you could drink. Got me thinking, though, so thats something.

Insurance sorted out, too. After trying every link on this site and god knows where else, i've no option but to stay with the insurer i'm currently with. They have, put my insurance premium up by nearly £200 a year, just for the displeasure of moving. But they are still the cheapest quote i've had, and offer other benfits like my breakdown cover, (well, i definitely need that ), etc. Beggars can't be choosers, so i'll have to stay in their good books, for now, until i'm discharged, at least, and the policy is due for renewal. Bankrupt friendly to car insurance, but not home insurance. Well thats of little consequence. I've little left, to insure. I suppose people think i'm mad going on about car, but i can rest knowing i'm not the only one.

Its strange how my feelings have changed. For a long time, all the time i was contemplating bankruptcy, my only concern was losing my car. Then of course it got to the stage, where i was going to lose my home. Then it got to the stage where i was going to lose everything, and none of it mattered anymore. Maybe i should, start showing my car, now we've both survived............

I had a quick wander round one last year, where they were raising money for cancer reasearch. That was only on a small scale, but its something to think about, maybe. The downside is i'd have to polish it...............

We could come and help you polish your car?

That sounds like a good idea, showing your car. I know right now you can't afford the extra petrol, etc but maybe there are local shows nearby? Worth researching?

    Even like minded people locally?
