I am so pleased that you are sounding a little more positive and that there are a little band of us now chivvying you along. My turn now....
Not only should any old utility debts be in the BR pot but what are the other outstanding debts from the old house? Can they be chucked in?
When you have your spare time next week, what about getting yourself along to the Citizens Advice and see what they say about the debts and your income situation? You may have to make an appt so it is worth looking into that. but well worth it I would say..
I love hot cross buns, teacakes, anything with dried fruit in. Yummee! And a welcome change from tinned tomatoes, I suspect.
Sorry about the car problems - I have been there and know what a drag it is. But you seem to be dealing with it all really well.
Are you renting at the moment? Do you get on with your neighbours. I moved 18 mths ago and I live in a nice area now with elderly neighbours and they are like a little community and so friendly. I have changed though and I realise that I used to give off " stay away from me" vibes and I smile at people now and encourage a smile or a bit of chat and it is great, I recommend it.
Do something, anything out of the work world that you are living in - we have spoken about volunteering - is there anything in your area that you can go along and see or watch or take part in - for free?
Random thoughts, I know, but they are things that I have picked up over the last couple of years since BR (time has flown) and I have downsized my life big time but I am so much more settled and happy for it.
Keep chatting to us as well because we are all behind you, believe me and there is so much experience (good and bad) on this forum that you will realise that you are far from the only one in this situation. :grouphug: Slightly "oh oh" group hug for you

All my bills are settled from my former home, now, apart from this extortianate gas bill. The shortfall from the sale, is another matter. I'm still not convinced i won't be hearing more, about this, ie doa's through the post. However, i'm aware of this. But i'll not even contemplate that, until the house is sold.
Cab. Thats a terrifying prospect. I'm sure they're glad to see the back of me. No, i should'nt say that in jest. Above and beyond, springs to mind. Which makes me think, i should really have sent them a xmas card, or some sort of thankyou card.
I think my aim now should definitely supplementing my income by way of wtc.
Insurance still not sorted, and i've been so busy today, i forgot to book the cancelable mot. Must remember to ring tomorrow.
The sentences are getting shorter, the eyes won't stay open, for anyone i've missed, ( aureol ), i'll be back tomorrow, maybe early in the morning, as ever.......................Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Thanks beanielou.
According to this i won't qualify, because its based on your earnings fro 2009 - 2010, which i knew already. So maybe i'll have to wait until the end of the tax year, to be assessed on this years income, although it will be after the 3 months allowed for coming off esa?
I think i will have to speak to someone about this, but i won't get chance tomorrow.
I'm really going to bed now.

Hi Nohope
We don't all expect a reply, just hit the thanks buttonUnless you want to comment of course.
I was an Easter Monday baby (fair of face? I think not :rotfl:) and love daffodils, they always put a smile on my face and remind me of this:
"Daffodils" (1804)
I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
By William Wordsworth (1770-1850).
I particularly like the bit in bold
Sleep well!

NH - I am not an expert but as you are bankrupt, the shortfall from the sale may well be included.
Do you want me to have a quiet word with a friend who is a volunteer debt advisor for the CAB?
Would you be up to phoning National Debtline and get the 'official story'?
Have you met any friendlies on the 'Bankruptcy and Living with It' board? (I could look for users who have provided useful advice to others ... see there are advantages of lurking and reading)
If you are working, take it easy ... if not keep the faith and get out for a walk in fresh air (or persistingness in my case )

Morning Nohope,
I agree that we don't expect a reply to our posts, time is short, but I hope you have time to read them and realise that we are all 100% behind you.
As regards the CA bureau, believe me they will have heard far worse stories than yours especially in these difficult times.
I used to think my debt problems were both unique and impossible to deal with but I learnt differently. The CCCS were fantastic as well and within 6 weeks of first posting on the Bankruptcy forum I was bankrupt and although I felt somewhat guilty I realised that I couldn't repay my debts and it was the only way out. I felt 10 yrs younger overnight. I am not exaggerating when I say that I felt suicidal.
One thing I would say is that every little query or new problem you have needs to be aired on either here or the BR forum because someone will know the answer or the best way to deal with it rather than you sitting worrying "What if, What if?".... As you probably already know there are a number of debt counsellors that post great advice and they are always quick to respond. I am thinking in particular with the deficit from the house sale. I have seen so many people post about that... don't worry unneccessarily.
Although we had heavy snow yesterday it has been raining overnight and it is washing the snow away so hopefully your journeys are not going to be too eventful.
Day off today for me, just going to chill out while the dog chews on his new bone. Don't work too hard and stay warm, well fed and healthy.
Hugs

Thanks for all the ideas aureol. I will have a look at some of the links, thanks.
I've never heard the term whoopsie shopping, but thats what i've been doing this last few years, although its not so easy now i've moved away from a supermarket that used to give things away, (almost). I'm an expert in eating quite healthily, or used to be, buying lots of fresh fruit and veg, bread, etc, for 5p, 10p 20p, you name it. I'm pretty expert at making my own meals, too. The main probem now, is i no longer have a freezer, as there is'nt room for one, here. Mine was on its last legs, anyway. I used to make larger quantities of things for freezing, and i was able to buy fresh fish portions for 25p, which i can no longer do.A bit of an inconvienience to my eating lifestyle.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Thanks NL x
There are some very helpful people on the bankruptcy board.
I guess i still have my contacts as well, who have helped me through all of this, ( if they have'nt lost their own jobs, yet ). Thats where i tend to end up going if i have a burning question. There always seems to be someone there, amazingly.
Looks as though i may have a day off on monday, so i've a few things to sort then. I must try and start getting my act together.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
