Do i? ( straight over the top of the head.)Any choklit plants going spare ... are they slug resistant??? I can swap for some landcress and perpetual spinach seeds which appear to be nicely slug resistant!!!!! (pleeze)
NL x
I should start a business in chocklit plants?
I suspect i'm about to find out if they are slug resistant, as they keep blowing over in the wind. Do slugs like chocolate? I hope not.
Seems like fair exchange, no robbery. I lurve spinach.
I shall have to wait until the shop opens on tues, and see if they have any left, ( i doubt it.) :rotfl:
It looks like i'll have to take some cuttings, but i'm not sure how to do this? Since the plants aren't as strong as i'd like, i think some tlc is required in the first instance. I've no intention of planting them now, so for the time being i'm growing them on the patio. The idea is to " garage " them for the winter, and hope they survive these winters. First, i have to survive the winter myself. I was told someone plants them into the ground in their pots, which seems like a very good idea to me.
Seriously, let me know, and i'll bring one round.:rotfl:

I wonder if she has come to terms with intervention? That old one day you will thank someone adage?
Not yet .... She has convinced herself that the appeal is going to be successful, I think there is a 50/50 chance, so fingers crossed.
Christmas 2011 she was practically bed bound, with a list of disabilities as long as your arm, having been an invalid for 12 years.
She was on high rate care, and her husband was her full time carer. After ATOL visit, she was moved to low rate DLA, her husband could nolonger get paid as her carer, they live out in the countryside and their mobility car was taken off them.
At this point the council decided to stop her Council Tax benefit and Housing benefit and her husband was refused ESA. Theoretically they were entitled to all of this, but council insisted that they had received no notification of change in circumstances, even though it had been sent to them by recorded delivery.
ESA, CT and HB are now sorted, but it took months and in the meantime she was nearly evicted from her private tenancy, and has got herself in a mess with Wonga.
The eviction was prevented by getting our MP involved, who I must say, has been excellent.
I think these kinds of situations are being repeated all over the country.

Keeping plants in their pots is a sneaky gardener trick ... it means that at the dead of night (after SC) you can whip them out and put in a different set of flowers ... then you sit by the window and count the confused people. It is a jolly jape, and one told to me by an RHS trained gardener.
NB: She only swapped her winter display for bulbs in full flower and not the whole garden!
I shall sort you out some slug resistant seeds :rotfl:

It IS getting a bit that way with the diary, isn't it? Who would have thought i'd still be here, certainly not me, and i've had vague thoughts, which don't go very far. I'm not into all this be positve and have a positive new diary title malarkey. It's been a journey and it still is the same journey, so i'm likely to keep the diary title exactly the same as it is now. Maybe my journey is something very close to me? I've let go of everything else, haven't i? Well most things, anyway. I still have my thoughts, ( even though they don't belong to me,) and i still have bl00dy car. Just. Still, i've always thought, it will depend exactly the state of my thoughts, when i reach the place where i have to start a new diary, and that can't be preplanned.
Almost into a new week of uncertainty. I'm extremely worried about money and the state of the dla. I have spent £20, i definitely wouldn't have spent, and i can't afford to " mispend " £20. £10 on some food shopping, ( that was sheer extravagance,) £7.00 on 4 chocklit plants and a raspberry bush, ( so was that,) and £3.38 on the f & c, ( need i say more.) I found 32p " roadkill ", so this was put towards the f & c, which was £3.70. Exceptional value for money, as f & c now shockingly cost more than 5 quid. Blimey. I've always regarded it as a poor mans meal, although chips and bits, have traditionally always been the poor mans meal. :rotfl: Of course, chippy's say they aren't allowed to do this now. Health and safety and all that carp. The world has gone mad. I've even been into a chippy who didn't have a clue what i was talking about. Sacrilege. I looked this up out of interest, as i've always called them chips and bits, and people don't have a clue what i'm talking about, as they're more likely to be called scraps? these days. I'm obviously in the wrong part of the universe.
Scraps (batter)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chips with scraps
Scraps is a term used in the North of England to refer to left over batter that has been deep-fried and is served as an accompaniment to chips.[1] They are traditionally served free-of-charge with chips in fish and chip shops.[2] In some parts of the north, they are referred simply as 'bits'[3] or 'batter'.
Anyway, i can conclusively say, that was the best f & c EVER, or maybe it was because i had such a strong desire? No. That was the best f & c ever. Mushy peas, too. I only had a small portion, which was way more than i could eat. It's left me with a strong desire for some more f & c. Strange. I don't know why. Not only that, i have a strong desire for a certain fresh crab sandwich. Oh my. Fish is on my mind.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

PDL companies are fatal news. I would never, ever, take that route, again. One lesson learned. It doesn't matter how desperate you are. Gawd, it's easy to say that now. I have learnt alot of lessons, ( finally.)PS. Where do you get chocolate plants from, they sound divine. Am very tempted to treat myself.

That's great info, thanks. xx
Ok, so you'll all have to wait and see if ani survives the winter too, before you all get cuttings?
Looks increasingly like i'll have to bring them all indoors for the winter, and i'd best go and pick up those overturned pots.
Have a good sleep. xx
