Ok. I am having a day out of life today, and one small treat, ( in the form of f & c.) I just hope i don't live to regret it, as i won't be able to pay my bills.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

enjoy your day ani, you deserve it - actually, eveyone (well most people) deserve days like that. I'm currently torn between chilling out in the garden and doing the 'jobs' that I know need doing. Still, at least the sun is outFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hi Ani,
Can totally empathise with the nightmare benefits system, where it is impossible to get a straight answer from anyone.
It's hard not to take it personally, but from what I have witnessed happening to a friend, who's DLA appeal I am attending Friday, there is very little compassion in the system and a huge amount of incompetence and kicking the most vulnerable at a time when they need advice and support. Welfare rights and MP are involved in her case too.
I think that you are incredibly brave, and brilliant, to have navigated your way, as far as you have, through the labyrinth, where the goal posts change all the time and extreme tenacity is required, when you least have the strength.
Dear friend nearly jumped in front of a train, through the stress of it all, but was fortunately stopped, and is now on large doses of anti-depressants, as well as having to deal with her original disabilities.

Wishing your friend all the best for her appeal Rainbow Bridge. If we thought the 19th century was primitive in regard to welfare, we don't seem to have progressed nowadays.Miggy

A diificult post to reply to. What can i say? except i've been there, although i've always refused the huge doses of anti - depressants. Now, of course, they won't give me them even if i ask for them. Any prescription, is closely, err, restricted. Even anti allergy eye drops. Astonishing, ( well that one, anyway.)
I hope the appeal goes in favour. xx :grouphug:Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
