Oh my god, thanks for the pic. It IS an imperial meter and is measured in ft. What would i do without miggy and mse. I've been sat here freezing for months because of that huge gas bill. :(

Methinks i should ring gas supplier, NOW. xx

Massive congratulations on being placed in the support group with out a medical. Usually this means that your next assessment will be in 18 months time. What it means is that you are not expected to attend the job centre, or look for work, which gives you time to look after you :T:T:T

It should not be taken out of housing benefits or council tax either as you are still on full benefits. It does mean that you have been allocated additional moneys for your health and welfare.

Enjoy your day and your book

The energy supplier say they are aware the meter is in feet, and are now sending me the bill, ( which i know was overdue,) :( £171. I will have to use my mathematical head to do complex calculations when the bill arrives, ( well, to me, anyway.) :o They say that is average for this type of property. Oh well, that's around £60 a month, but these are supposed to be the summer months.

I'm retiring to bed now, before it ends up being entirely another day of phone calls.

Oh I'm SO excited now! Fingers and everything crossed (I know that's superstition but I can't just sit here and not do anything).

Hoping and praying it comes through...._pale_

I am having trouble keeping up with all the post (yours I mean - no one has written to me :) ) but the more money for you, the better. As to a potential wait for 8 months for DLA - that's iniquitous, even if eventually welcome. A wait like that didn't orta be allowed. Not that I'm political or anything.

I think they said it lasts for a year from the time i'm put in the support group? I'm confused as to whether it's from then or from the beginning of the esa claim.

It's ironic i'm now even more ill, than i was to start with, ( if that's possible?) I still don't do long term, and i don't look to the future. It's just from one moment to the next, although obviously, i'm constantly worried about how i'm going to pay future bills, ( like the b*y gas bill.) You just can't do it on £61 a week.

I could no more work, than i could fly to the moon, right now. Health has really been on the back burner, throughout all of this. It seems slightly odd, more than slightly odd, to focus on my own well being. I'm not sure i'm up to / or for, it. Does that make sense?

£60 a month is better (two thirds what it was?) but still doesn't sound like the amount you seem to have been spending. Hope those calculations help. You must be using less than average.

This is supposed to be summer, but it's hardly a typical one - perhaps we will get the forecast warm weather next week and that will help tip it back towards what it should be.

Good to hear about shelter for ani and the plants. :)

I love it when you post. :) A voice of clarity and reason... and encouragement. :)

I don't think you have a diary, do you? Not that I can keep up with all the diaries I want to read, but I'd like to be able to offer what support I can. I know you are having an incredibly hard time too.

Well, you both do and don't want to live, but if you are alive you want quality of life - so yes, it makes perfect sense (now do I get struck of MSE for saying that?).

And you aren't asking for a lot from a supposedly welfare state. Let's stick the PM in your position for a realistic amount of time - say till retirement (when he can go and find a low paid job to supplement his state pension) - and see what policies he comes up with. :D

Enjoy that book - if ever I stop interrupting you. :)

That will be the stuff on the Watchdog page then? I don't have any doubt you can do it, but if it's a hassle just post the sums on here and I'm sure some mathematical brain will have a go.

ETA - just hoping they have accidentally left the metric bit of the calculation in because that's what makes the big difference.

Which composer is it whose music is played in Maths classes because it's supposed to stimulate mathematical thinking?
