You know those ready-cooked yorkshires you can buy in Mr T? The value ones - about 40p - the packet says they aren't suitable for the microwave, but I bet they are. Give them 20 second bursts... not perfect but still... Yorkshires!

Hmmm, except i'm not going out for a week, as i have no money to spend, ( well, apart from my 10p purchases.) :rotfl:

Undoubtedly a special privilege for tennants. ;)
Suspected as much, especially those tennants in rent arrears :D
Could it be plumbed under the bottom larder shelf? Though you might have to take one shelf out? :( That might let you have shelf space above, and maybe the microwave and sc could go on a shelf? That in turn would free space in the main kitchen...
No. The gas meter occupies most of the bottom area, and the shelves have been there for hundreds of years.
Re the library books - I'm not sure if there's a charge for ordering? I think there is round here. Our local library also has one or two book clubs - one is actually for people who can't see (hide the glasses): I don't know quite how it works but I know a couple of people who are involved and it seems to be worth going to.
They never mentioned a charge. Oh dear...........................

When they are far enough in the past to allow you to throw them out, shall we all copy Flax's excellent idea and have a ceremonial bonfire? You could do your rain dance and I will supply ginger biscuits. If Flax brings sheep, they can shout 'bah' to the departing papers...
I wish. Lets have a party, anyway

If they succeed, shall we invite them to the party? :D
Lets invite the whole of mse? :D ( but only if they are prepared to hunt for slimey critters.)

I really love my larder, even though we can't actually get in because the fridge/freezer's in there!

    :rotfl::rotfl:

Csn't be all that much? Not compared to laundrette. Have you got an airer? Or even dust the tops of the doors and hang things over there! Ahem - I dry sheets that way when I can't line dry them. :D
Yep, i do have an airer, and doors, and i did have curtainpoles :D

Foiled again. Won't they need to relocate the meter anyway though if they want to use the larder?

Party anytime - I've never been to a slimey creature-hunting party before though! What's the dress code and is xmas cake compulsory?

    There's a first for everything.

You must bring your home on your back.

No, ginger cake will be fine :)

The library shouldn't charge for ordering a large print book. that is part of their service for people with disabilities, etc.

Just a little thought. Can you get a look at any of your sigh ours kitchens before you have to get a choice, then you can see what they had done and ask about washing machine in advance. You should be entitled to the same as they are, but the cheese people dont tell you that. Good luck.
Do you get a new bathroom too?

I still feel terrible i've queue jumped , however, i guess it's all relative to the state of your kitchen in the first place and if you have a kitchen fit for purpose?

    Yay to glasses :)
I can see you now :p

Thinking back, i'm sure i ordered a book i didn't pay for, in the past.

I've already had a look at a neighbours, but their kitchen was a different size and shape to mine. There are only a handful of properties like mine. Maybe i should ask my adjoining neighbour.

In fact, maybe i should ring ha this morning and find out if plumbing is included?

I do know you are allowed to choose work surfaces, cupboards, flooring etc.

    New bathroom? :rotfl:

I'm glad i got all my gardening done, except that is, for planting all my seedlings. Perhaps the reason why i haven't done this, is because i haven't a clue what anything is. Except the sweet peas and spring onions, that is. Sweet peas. I'm going to be lucky to have any. Sc's lurvvve them. I'm now on sc daily watch, as the only form of defence is indeed the hands on approach. Not for the squeamish, it has to be said. What is it about sp's. My lupins are about to flower, too. Apart from one that is, which has taken so much sc damage. There's hardly anything left. Except a flower, trying to force it's way upwards. Special care is needed. I've found sc's congregate in undergrowth and the undergrowth which is your plant. And their favourite plants seem to be your favourite plants. Humph

Yesterday i had a relatively chilled day in the garden, ( apart from the sc's,) as i desperately needed a " day off " from it all. I'm not quite sure why i still haven't got my financial life sorted. I've been in this place almost 5 months, now, and it still doesn't feel like home. I still feel far from settled, even though there's nowhere to go from here. I'm not sure what i'm going to do today. Maybe nothing? Correction. Mustn't forget to put the slow cooker on today.

Glad you had a chilled day yesterday. Black clouds yesterday blew away, but they're back with a vengeance this morning plus the rain. Poor sheep with no coats are all huddled up against the wall.

Good shopping trip this morning with lots of 10 and 20p bargains. I was amused to see a warning of torrential rain on Friday on the road sign. Perhaps just a bit better than 'plan your journey and arrive in time for the olympics.

My hosta has sprouted very lacy leaves overnight despite my vigilance and a huge weed with leaves the size of dinner plates has sprouted through the potentilla. Have no idea how to remove it. Its growing in the middle of the roots.

How exciting to be able to have some choice in your kitchen. Don't feel guilty, look on it as catching up with the rest of the neighbourhood. Have another chilled day
