I'll never reply to all that in one post! :D

First of all, congrats on the kitchen! I had no idea things like that could happen. And even if you 'queue jumped', the chances are that with your current level of unkitchen-ness, you are at greater need than others in the queue. 7'x7' is smaller than ours (9'2"x6'5"), though not a lot. We have a w/machine, full sized dishwasher (no not me) and cooker - the freezer is under the stairs and the fridge is in the larder. So something may be do-able even if they have to be creative. :) (We were!)

Neither had i, until a neighbour told me that all the properties in this area, had their kitchens and bathrooms? ripped out and brand new ones installed a few years ago. All, that is, except this place, as i believe the tennant declined as they were too ill for all the upheaval. I will miss the ( very ) old fashioned larder. A larder in the true sense of the word :)

    OH? DS ? DD? :p

I'm supposing you have your computer set up to larger print because some of the print on here is truly miniscule.
Now you tell me, i didn't know you can do that? :rotfl:

    NO :D
Have you asked your doctor about the tiredness? I remember you said you'd had blood tests but I can't think how long ago. Even if they ruled out things like anaemia or hypothyroidism (struggling to spell those at this time of day), it's possible your iron levels have subsequently gone down, or possibly - more likely - it's stress, but you know that. The doc might be able to give you some idea how long it's likely to go on? In the meantime you had such a big day on Monday that no wonder you slept yesterday!
I think it's just all the stress over a prolonged period of time. Burnt out, comes to mind.
I have to go for a bit - get self ready for the day while DS2 (who is once again not in the maternal good books) finds out whatever it is he thinks is so essential from the computer before heading off to spend the day with friends. So see you later!
    Enjoy the T?
P.S. Does this mean they will plumb in your washing machine and save you some of that £24 a month? :)
Washing machine being plumbed in is top of the list of priorities although i believe i may still have to bear the cost of this. Will find out when they come. I've just agonised over whether to spend £3 on washing my bedding, as it would appear there's rain on the way, ( and lots of it, ) for the best part of the next week. Always try to dry it for free. I can't imagine having the use of my washing machine is going to add another £20 - £30 a month to my leccy bill?

have you thought you might see lots more sc now you have your glasses?

Already been spotted including another one making a hasty retreat, ( such as sc's can,) from my potted " things ". I really need a small greenhouse or shed. A place of safety from wind and cs's.

Where have they all come from? There were none yesterday teatime :o

Right, enough of tinternet, will do some gardening whilst i can.

No crises' today, just one letter re phone and tinternet bill. £28.66, so that's no too bad. It's supposed to be the same every month, but i'm not complaining at this. I have enough food supplies, ( apart from fresh, ) to last me through a nuclear explosion :rotfl: Just bought a bag of spring onions for 10p and a huge bag of mushrooms for 10p, this morning, so looks like pasta it is, for a few more days, yet. :D Still, i might try pasta and meatballs :D

Those more resourceful creatures keep climbing the sides of the bin. There's no escape. Not here, anyway.

    Salt in the bin?

However you can't cook yorkshires in the sc.

You know those ready-cooked yorkshires you can buy in Mr T? The value ones - about 40p - the packet says they aren't suitable for the microwave, but I bet they are. Give them 20 second bursts... not perfect but still... Yorkshires!
the ha suggested i store my washing machine in my living room, too. I wonder if they live like this? or if its exclusive to tennants?

Undoubtedly a special privilege for tennants. ;)

Could it be plumbed under the bottom larder shelf? Though you might have to take one shelf out? :( That might let you have shelf space above, and maybe the microwave and sc could go on a shelf? That in turn would free space in the main kitchen...

Re the library books - I'm not sure if there's a charge for ordering? I think there is round here. Our local library also has one or two book clubs - one is actually for people who can't see (hide the glasses): I don't know quite how it works but I know a couple of people who are involved and it seems to be worth going to.

    Sorry, side track there.
Having a few problems with the dro, as some of the items from my br are still showing on my credit file, taking me over the limit to apply. Although i thought i'd never have to get in touch with the is again, it's had to be done. Mind you, i've never found them anything except helpful, despite what other people say. It's brought it all flooding back, to some extent, searching through all those br orders, possession orders, etc. Stuff i never want to see again.

When they are far enough in the past to allow you to throw them out, shall we all copy Flax's excellent idea and have a ceremonial bonfire? You could do your rain dance and I will supply ginger biscuits. If Flax brings sheep, they can shout 'bah' to the departing papers...
All in all, the only thing i need now is enough income to cover my bills and basic living costs. Not too much to ask. Is it? I don't aspire to anything except a peaceful, basic life. No great ambitions. Just an extra few bob a week. Its unlikely to happen.

    *sigh*
Oh, i forgot, my sw is appealing the decision on my dla.

If they succeed, shall we invite them to the party? :D

I lived somewhere like that once! First job, voluntary with accommodation in the middle of Southwark. There was a neat circular hole in the bathroom window where the extractor fan had once been, and no sink in the bathroom so we had to lean over the bath. We did have a kitchen, where I cooked rice because for a while that's what I had to eat (with seasoning on alternate days for variety), my colleague made lentil soup because she was a vegetarian and my other colleague lived on beans on toast if poor and marmite on toast when slightly less poor.

    Good times. ;)

I really love my larder, even though we can't actually get in because the fridge/freezer's in there!

:rotfl: No, a real one. It was a present - lucky us! It took some fitting in but it's worth having to dodge round the protruding corner. :D

    NO

Start button, then Control Panel, then Accessibility, or something along those lines. It varies between computers. Not that you'll need it any more. :)

Csn't be all that much? Not compared to laundrette. Have you got an airer? Or even dust the tops of the doors and hang things over there! Ahem - I dry sheets that way when I can't line dry them. :D

I used to have some pipes that I fitted to the taps when I wanted to use the machine some years ago and just slung the outlet over the edge of the sink. It was better than hand washing or launderette
