Blimey, pasta cooked perfectly already. I'm not sure how long that took exactly. 30 mins ish? That's thrown me out, unless i have dinner for lunch?

Can't do anything now, except slow cooker watch. Waiting for mushies, ( should have put those in with pasta.) Was going to add meatballs :D Never mind, next time?

Seems to be going quite smoothly.

    Recipe :-

Cook ( dried ) pasta ( size no object,) mushrooms, :D dried herbs :D whatever else you want to fling in for 10 mins on low setting, and bob's your uncle.

Actually 20 mins was probably just a slight touch too long ( It was )

Will add cheese and tomatoey stuff when mushies cooked.

One tip / cheat? - Boiled water in kettle before adding pasta to slow cooker.

    Dinnertiiiiiiiimmmmme

Edited - Cook pasta, mushies etc for 10 mins before adding chesse, tomaotes etc. Base the principle on the theory pasta doesn't take long to cook and all will be fine / perfect? Managed to overcook pasta, adding cheese etc. Next time i will know. Its a very cheap and quick method of slow cookering, if you get it right ( Almost! ) :p

One of those bleurgh days today. Just coming to realise it's likely i'll be assessed soon, for return to work, whether i like it or not, or whether i'm able or not. I was asked last week if i would be returning to my old job. Yet more, and back to the same old confict with hmrc and benefits offices, just on a different playing field? Plus higher repayments to debts and no guaranteed income, outlay up front, blah, blah.

How ironic that that should come up just after you've been signed off sick for three months. I was only signed off for a couple of weeks then given two weeks phased return which worked okay (though I would have liked more time off!) I didn't feel ready to return but it wasn't too bad.

In your case, though, would you consider ever returning? Surely half the trouble has been that the job just ceased to be economically viable? Also who knows how long you may be off sick? I think you should see if the NT is advertising for gardeners...
I have come to realise there is only one way to combat slimey critters, and that is the personal touch. It's all out war. Almost 100 sc's and their homes despatched to green wheelie bin, this morning. Try and get out of that one. Isn't that just about the most humanitarian thing you can do? I'm now on sc daily patrol. Maybe twice daily. Little buga's. A whole colony of them at the bottom of my first sweet pea plant. Pah

I thought I was doing well with a catch of 22 last night. Yuck. I'm afraid mine got the salt treatment. Some of them were huge, too.

Apart from that, i should start completing forms which should be sent back in white envelopes. Sigh..........

Oi! Watch yer language there! It's the weekend. You know... weekend? Oh well, if you must. I suppose things are always more palatable after a plate of pasta. :)

I've never tried cooking it separately in the sc first - I reckon you've made a discovery there. Now water from the kettle is a good move (pre-warms the sc too though whether it's worth it economically just for that I don't know). If I'm using sauce from a jar I microwave it for a minute first too to save time... well, I do now that I've learnt to remove the lid and any metallic labels. :D

Slightly under 500 posts in the past month here - Ani, I think you need to be planning the title of volume two for July/August!

In the 15th week on esa, they put you in the return to work or support category, which isn't going to help since i've been turned down for dla, ( hope you're not too confused.)

No, the general idea is not to return to my old job, because of all the problems it creates, from all aspects.

Which reminds me, where's that salt? Will do, NOW :D

Also removed the gel pods. :)

Really, how do you know that?

Volume two? I had a similar conversation with :A, and was quite shocked, i must admit.

Volume two is in the future, and i don't do future? Still vaguely living from day to day. However, the title of a future diary has crossed my mind, especially at times when i've felt it is never ending, It does seem to be looming? I don't know. My life has become so entwined with my diary and all the people i've met, i'm not sure i would change the name, ( although you know i like living in decades gone by.) :D

The obvious title would be something along the lines of Life after bankruptcy - moving on, but since i still don't feel i've reached that place yet. I probably have in some way, talking to you lot :p

Life after bankruptcy and straight into a dro? :(

July / August is still a long way, away.

No more than usual. :D However there's still that appeal thingy that beanie mentioned, let's get that underway.

No, the general idea is not to return to my old job, because of all the problems it creates, from all aspects.

    That makes sense to me.

Which will no doubt create interest on your CV. :D

I wish I could come over all mystic but I happen to know threads are limited to something like 5,000 posts, so I'm just projecting based on current usage.

"I don't do future?" would be quite a good title - maybe save that one for the film? :D

You could take a leaf from my book and do 'Earl Grey and...' Slimey creatures? Mps? The only one that comes to mind and begins with 'E' would only depress you. ;)

Eek - I am supposed to be making tea, got an evening shift starting at 6, see you later.
