I feel vaguely ashamed that you have all been beavering away in the garden. Our usually productive veg patch is just weeds and the strawberries are fighting for their lives amongst the dandelions. I've planted zilch and can't seem to find the enthusiasm now I have to do it all myself. I'm probably going to regret it as I do like my runner and broad beans.

    So you should :p

If i can find the ( enthusiasm,) :shhh: so can you. :naughty:

    Well not enthusiam, exactly.

Ani, I know what you mean wondering if it's worth it, i started with 12 little seedlings, and am now down to 4 plants left thanks to cold weather, strong winds and slimy critters... however, this is bringing out my competitive side and I darn well will have at least one home grown tomato if it kills me this summer :D

    Oh no :(

Did i mention i have a second pepper plant seedling appeared. Not sure if this means i'll ever see peppers this year :rotfl:

However i've alreay eaten some peppers from the other plants. Not remotely like shop bought peppers, thank goodness. Although slimey critters have decided they are rock climbers. Thankfully, they don't seem to like the actual peppers themselves. :D

Maybe i should mention debt, once in a while?

    That goes without saying, too.

    Why? :D

I too have a pepper seedling now - all 1cm of it.

My slimey critters with houses on their backs have taken to mountaineering. Found one on the upstairs windowsill when I went to shut the window and there was another one 2/3 up the wall. AND they hadn't got safety equipment or ropes. I'll have to call elf and safety.

Am off to hunt slimey things - this is the time of night for it. i have to add I wouldn't have discovered this out of enthusiasm, it's just that there's a Small Furry Creature out there who requires feeding, and slugs like rabbit food. Bleagh.

One of those bleurgh days today. Just coming to realise it's likely i'll be assessed soon, for return to work, whether i like it or not, or whether i'm able or not. I was asked last week if i would be returning to my old job. Yet more, and back to the same old confict with hmrc and benefits offices, just on a different playing field? Plus higher repayments to debts and no guaranteed income, outlay up front, blah, blah.

I have come to realise there is only one way to combat slimey critters, and that is the personal touch. It's all out war. Almost 100 sc's and their homes despatched to green wheelie bin, this morning. Try and get out of that one. Isn't that just about the most humanitarian thing you can do? I'm now on sc daily patrol. Maybe twice daily. Little buga's. A whole colony of them at the bottom of my first sweet pea plant. Pah

It would appear pasta doesn't rate that highly in the slow cookering stakes, so i'm on a mission, and will try what my first instincts told me. Pasta is now on. I'll cook the pasta separately, and add everything later, ( if the pasta doesn't have to be thrown away. ) It seems possible to overcook the pasta / send it soggy. We shall see.

    I'm now on pasta watch.

    Oh, and don't forget the p & m soup.

Apart from that, i should start completing forms which should be sent back in white envelopes. Sigh..........
