    Hi Ani
I'm another one of those long time lurkers who has been following your saga since the very beginning. I've come to the conclusion that its only strong, intelligent people like you who can actually see the farce that's the benefit system! Hysterical humour seems the only way to cope. Hope the up mood of today continues and the slimey critters disappear back to next door.

Lovely to hear there are a couple of positive letters. Are you sure they were addressed to you?

I am shellshocked at the moment, so i will just post what i was going to post, ( well try, anyway.)

I have had a relaxing day in the garden, ( why does it take 6 hours, and why am i shattered after 2 hours?) The chives, ( CHIVES,) are planted :), i've planted some potatoes i've been meaning to plant for ages, the verbena are planted, and even I'M impressed with how my front garden looks, now. It was all worth it. Just my kind of day. Sunshine, not too hot, and windy, ( although it's got windier as the day has progressed.) The washing dry, too, ( urgh, another £3 spend.)

The lawn has been hand manicured, ( yes, hand manicured,) as i don't have any edge trimmers, so i used my resourcefulness and used the secateurs. The secateurs are now broken :rotfl: Will be returned to the shop :D Its a day of returns :DTalking of returns, the sunflower. Talking to plant seller, it would appear it's a very bad year for everything, ( and looking on the greenfingered board,) Including slimey critters  It would appear i'm lucky my geraniums are flowering, too. Action taken against slimey critters, now i have lots of salt, but i may have to resort to slimey critter warfare. This depends on " payday " tomorrow, which i've messed up with my sicknote. The good news is, i can stay in all weekend. And cook. Which reminds me, this friday through to monday i am NOT going to open my mail. I am not going to spend another weekend like last one. I keep forgetting sw's advice. No. Mail is out of bounds from now until monday.

I guess since i'm such a gardening novice, only losing one plant so far, is pretty darn good, ( although slimey critters favour sweet peas above all else.) Why don't they like weeds? I am going to have no sweet peas left. Little buga's.

Right. That's taken my mind off other things. I'm hoping the rain will hold off long enough for the walk this evening. I need to clear my head.

The courage to change what I can, the ability to accept what I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference? But if people never tried to change the status quo then no progress would ever be made.

I do hope its a good kind of shell shock. I'm plagued with huge snails. You can actually hear them munching in the still evening air. I don't have the heart to tread on them, so just throw them into the field opposite - not a very good plan as they hotfoot it straight back.

Now I am not confused - so does that mean there's something the matter with me?! :D

Warfare on slimey creatures - ha! Let battle be joined! I have a few dead 'uns here, 'cos even if I don't kill spiders, slugs have had it for eating my plants.

Your garden sounds wonderful, want some tomatoes? :D And chives with potatoes - very nice! Are you turning into Tom Good?

    I hope payday comes through.

The not-opening post is a great idea. Just write 'not in till Monday' on the envelope and shove it back in the post if the temptation is too great...

I'm so tired today. It just seems to be getting worse. Maybe i did too much, yesterday. All day in the garden, followed by a 4 mile walk. I was exhausted before i went on the walk. 3 appointments on monday, and only now, the support seems to arriving.

Six slimey critters dispensed of, tonight. I should go round the rest of the garden. They are out in force, tonight. Little buga's.

It's that time of year again, isn't it, father's day. Is it really a year since i last wrote this? Of course it's 15th june today, and it couldn't pass without a mention for my dad's birthday. Now, it's getting even more difficult to work it out. 101?
