Well, that was wishful thinking on my part!

    Found this:

Although it improved later in the summer, the weather of June 1911 was windy and cool. Frequent rainstorms had been causing the London public, and the vendors of seats on the stands set up along the coronation processional route, some disquiet. In the whole month of June there were only five good days. Coronation Day, the twenty-second, was not amongst them. “Dull but fine - Our Coronation Day”, Queen Mary recorded in her Diary. King George’s comment in his Diary was longer, but it was equally characteristic: “It was overcast and cloudy with slight showers, & a strongish cool breeze, but better for the people than great heat.”

A month much like this month, by the look of it. Perhaps your Grandfather was out battling slimy creatures and dreaming of the future when people would have invented a way of getting rid of them for good?

I feel my mind and body is finally going into shutdown mode. This is a whole new experience. Maybe it's finally saying enough is enough. Never heard from mp's lackey. See if i can muster the energy for one last pop. What is the point? Textbook answers for everything.

I think the extreme tiredness is part of the process, and there will be a day when you are less tired, and eventually a day when you have energy again.

By the way, it's Saturday. :naughty: I thought you were avoiding 'business' things over the weekend, or is that just letters? Rather than tackling the MP today - when they are probably away anyway - either see if your GP can give you some advice or tonic, or go and hunt slimies till the garden is free of them... sorry if I sound bossy, I don't mean to, just soooo tired myself.

What did i say about opening letters on a saturday?

I've just received a letter re hb an ctb which i so complex, even I don't understand, and finally received my letter saying my claim for dla has been rejected, which affects all the hb and ctb stuff. I don't know how i'm going to survive now. I can't. It's as simple as that. It's only what i expected.

Oh god, what am i going to do?

Morning all (hiding coffee cup behind computer) Tiredness seems to be a familiar theme whatever the cause. I'm sure all this wet weather and the fact that its the weekend has some bearing on it. Gardening is definitely out, but at least I don't have to think about the knee high grass and my veggie patch that has nothing but weeds. Think it might be a duvet day today as the council minions that should be collecting some old carpet for a fiver want £25 just because I've cut and taped it up into small rolls to make it easier for them to hande. Its one carpet fgs - no apparently its 5. Arggg! Ani hope you manage to put all thoughts of 'business' from your mind until Monday and weather where you are is better than here.

Ani, have they told you why you have been rejected? You can appeal. Who filled in your form?

Hi Flax...maybe save the fiver and turn the carpet upside down on the weeds as a suppressant? when you lift the carpet the soil is easier to dig and can get the roots out. Its not perfect but stops the light getting to the weeds..

Aesop, i know you can appeal. I appeal for everything. Just heard b2b on c.

Wr and my sw completed the form for me.

I have at least made the effort to try and work out the new jargon re hb and ctb. The result is the same. After i have paid rent and ct, i am left with £60 per week for everything else. I'd fogotten i can't cancel the contracts, ( might as well pay for usage anyway.)

It is just textbook jargon to enable the government to take an extra £10 a week off someone who is already living in poverty? I should receive at least £71 a week to pay my bills. £11 a week, as far as i am concerned, is a fortune, ( not that it enables me to live.)

    £60 a week, £240 a month, £2880 per annum to live on.

Oops, i forgot all those extra days.

Doesn't that put it into perspective for anyone? No wonder there is so much benefit fraud.

I've pulled myself together, ( just about,) for one last confrontation.
