Life after bankruptcy?

Re the forms - i received a phone call late today, and the sw is coming next week. They also said they are bringing someone else. I can't remember who, a care support worker, or somebody, for 10 - 12 weeks care. God, its bad its come to this, but i'm struggling with the basics, at the moment. In the back of my mind, i don't want people around. On the other hand, i can't cope.
Anyway, i'll get some help with the forms, next week.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

That's good news they have got their fingers out from a'hem, somewhere, and are coming to help you with the forms - honestly paperwork these days should come with a degree qualification. My mum had some financial stuff sent to her, couldn't work out the figures, thought she was being dumb, asked me to check and when I looked the blinkin figures on the paperwork didn't even match what she'd received - no wonder she couldn't make sense of them.
I'm sure many of us are of the mind that we can cope without help, it seems to be some human trait (well at least in some) that accepting help is a weakness, perhaps it goes back to showing weakness in the animal kingdom can mean curtains - thankfully most of us humans have also developed empathy now as wellIt's not bad you need help, we all do in one way or another throughout our lives, you've done plenty on your own already and it's a big step accepting you do need some assistance in the short term at least, so, that's my second well done of the night.

Go on then, say it, ARISE
Thanks kerri xx
I guess you're right. Its a huge step for me, and yes, maybe it is a sign of weakness. Its difficult coming to terms with the fact you are no longer the person you once were.
So many people have said to me recently i'm a changed character, and i was always friendly, outgoing, got on with everybody. Now, i don't see how my behaviour is, at all, if that makes sense, but then i've been in this world of stress, or whatever, for so long now. And now, i guess the professionals are looking for changes in my behaviour as to when i might do it again. Thats quite scary.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I suppose its a strange situation, now. Its got to the stage where money, the fact i'm still in debt, a dfw even, i don't care about, anymore. Its all about health issues now, and the management, as it were, of them.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Hi Ani
I am so pleased to see you posting again.
You have been through an awful lot recently & the sw should/will be a valuable point of support...they have a duty of care to ensure that you are able to rebuild so take every offer of help that is within their remit. I felt such a failure when they helped me but it was the best thing I ever did...looking back I needed it even though I was still in denial at the time..:o
Also try & think practically about any debt...a DRO (depends on assets) or a DMP will help there - CAB should help on that. You main concern is getting sustainable benefits so that you can get your life back on an even keel...you will get there & your life will get better one day at a time.
Sorry I haven`t been able to post as I have no laptop & have moved house again :eek:( bigger property on the `estate`)...very stressful but like you I am learning to ask for help these days:o:o

A neighbour pointed out i had some roses today, and that they needed cutting back. Not the easiest thing in the world with a pair of scissors. :rotfl:
I haven't heard where the snow is forecast, yet, but i've put so much effort into that garden ( well, it IS effort, to me,) i'll be gutted if we get 6 ft of snow.( which is more than likely .) Its the only thing keeping me going at the moment, and an excuse from staying inside,me being an outdoorsy person, and all.
Not up to hiking yet, frustratinglyDebt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Its so stressful to keep moving. Are you having a house warming? hint hint, nudge nudge, wink wink
I've completely switched off to my debts at the moment. Maybe because i'm living from minute to minute, literally, although at this minute in time, i feel alot calmer then i did, this time last week.
