Life after bankruptcy?

It's not that I don't want to work, I do, but I cannot live on what I earn. I can't work full time for this company because all my money would go on childcare and I wouldn't qualify for wtc, so I would be worse off. They asked me to go full time and I said yes, if you pay me a salary of xx amount. The MD thought about it and said no.
That's her problem not mine. I am not prepared to work for £8 an hour full time, she knows I have childcare costs. But her reasoning was my friends should look after him while I work
that does not work! I tried it short term and it was more hassle than anything else!
As it I don't qualify at the moment for WTC, we are over the threshold. Saying that I did DH's self assessment last night and we are now back under the threshold.
But last night I had to ask him for money to last me until I get paid again and this morning he asked me why I didn't have enough money to last until my payday. I explained we have had a lot more expenses this month namely him, and his shaving blades. I can't buy cheap ones for him, he has very sensitive skin, so that was £20, then I buy nappies and pullups for DS, I am living on the updated printable coupon thread at the moment! I already buy value stuff, and dress it up to make it tastier. I made my own barbecue sauce the other day,and put on tesco value ribs, and DH loved it, asked where I had bought them.
But that is the other thing, he has to have meat everyday for lunch and dinner. I am trying to eek out the dinner with fish and non meat days, but I can only do that 2/3 times max, as he complains.
he doesn't eat veggie stuff, ie veg moussaka, even though I keep telling him he should. Then last night told him that TC only give 70% of nursery fees now, I have to pay the other 30% from my meager wage, and the cost of meat has increased considerably. And the bills have increased.
He said not that much they haven't.
For someone who doesn't pay them or buy food, what does he know?
ok, rant over, am going to go and do my surveys....0 -

OK! I accept the challenge I think its disgraceful that you want to go on benefits!
No i don't, both you and Aesop have tried so hard to make working work the state is there to help as a saftey net and you both richly (unintended pun) deserve to be helped.
So before you get shot down in flames as you probably will I register my support to both of you.
Thanks for the support when I unitentionally put my foot in it on another thread.
I would be happy to settle for half your literary skills.
If i have only opened my mouth to change feet appologies

Ecky thump. Good pun
Not sure if you're joking about the literary skills? As you may have guessed, i still struggle with my grasp of english and expression of myself, as a diarist, which is unfortunately, what i've become?
The simple fact would appear we both are keen to work. However you can't live on fresh air alone, ( well maybe you can, to some extent ).
I don't want to give up a job i've been doing for most of my working life, and which i'm largely, happy with. Its going to be crunch time soon, as i find exactly what help i'm entitled to. Maybe i should have done this years ago? although i'm not sure what the procedure is re mortgages.
Before you disappear back into oblivion, a few questions if i may?
What are you?
Dog?
Cat?
Any other animal, mammal?
Bird?
Fish?

Frozen.
My previous job (typist in old money though that's not what they call it now) started to involve more and more data enty and I just can't do it. I had to get another job before they sacked me!
So here I am.
Ani, your guess was very good. I'm a support worker - when I'm not growling at the postman or chewing shoes. I thought I was a 'she' too,, but I see I have become 'Jack'!Miggy

Have scanned through and am not sure where Miggy became Jack  Another MSE sex change :rotfl:
All seems to be trundling along as usual.... unless I scanned through too quickly?
Pah to toothache
I'm another one that thinks benefits are there as a safety net, should we need them. And the amount I have paid in without drawing out (no SSP, SMP or unemployment benefit yet.... Haven't had kids so not taking advantage of the schooling either) I think you are all entitled to take some back on my behalf

Hi Ani et all, just dropping by to say I haven't shunned this thread, and yes Ani I have been reading your diary (still deciding on my animal status - depends when and what day you catch me on I think
) but I've had a manic week and haven't had a chance to post.
I tend to agree on the benefits thing, they are there for a reason, to support those who need assistance at some time or another in their lives. We all contribute and not knowing what the future holds any one of us could find ourselves in the situation of needing to draw benefits at some time or other in our lives.
What I do disagree with is those who spend their entire lives on benefits, milking the system and doing nothing to be self sufficient or give anything back. Of course, if we have people in such situations, it does also suggest something is very wrong with the system itself. *steps off soapbox* sorry, rant over now ...Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
