HSstars.gifWelcome to baby Katie, and I second the request for a wee pic for all her OS "aunties" please :D Glad to hear you're both OK, Falady.

That's exactly who I thought Billy Murray was, BB, thanks!

DS1 has a birthday party today, and my sister is coming for a visit with my wee niece. So I am cleaning this morning as I didn't get as much done as I wanted yesterday, and I need to bake a cake for her. Think it will be a lemon drizzle. I made sweet potato and b/n squash soup after someone ;) gave me the idea on FB, so that will be lunch.

Hugs to all, especially Jayward, JC and Molly's families - have a great day, y'all!

Morning all, congratulations to Falady, glad to hear you ar eall doing well. Its a thoroughly awful day here. Childminding dgs today so it will be a day of listening to Singing Kettle (a scottish folk group who sing childrens rhymes etc) - takes me back twenty odd years as they were on the go when mine were small, unless it brightens up then we will escape somewhere. Made soup yesterday so it will be even better today - second day soup is so much better!! Stewing steak, cabbage and tatties for tea, will put this in the slow cooker shortly. Sunday is usually baking day but not sure if I could survive with dgs and baking at the same time as I need eyes in the back of my head with him!!! He has just taken the milk out of the fridge and is trying to pour himself some! Washing machine is on but that will go on the screen, I will also have to check the electric meter readings today as I know the past week we have been usuing so much more - well better go not hearing DGS so wonder what he is upto now!!!!!
    have a good day,
    Suzy

    Morning all :)

It's been a long time since I was last here.

Today has been a very productive day, so far. I have actually been able to bake a cake for the first time in ages.

I also have bread in the oven, have made bacon sandwiches for my girls breakfast and will do some biscuits shortly :)

I will probably be exhausted by lunchtime, but it's been a lovely morning and DDs were very happy when they got up and saw the cake coming out.

I've missed OS and grocery costs have shot up as I haven't been able to cook from scratch, but I'm looking at getting those costs down, if only by a little bit.

No plans for the rest of the day.

DDs are off to their young carer's group, so need to prepare some lunch for them, once the bread is done.

Weather isn't great, although it doesn't feel cold.

Hope everyone else has a nice day planned.

    Pipkin xx

    Morning all,

Bright beautiful day here, although its cold morning and night. I have the bedding in the wm, and another two washes to go in after, will get it all on the line today.

My friend gave me 6 duck eggs the other day, OH and I had one each baked for lunch yesterday, both of which had double yolks, dd and I have just had another one each, again both doubles :T, I wonder if the final two will be ? not bad seeing as the ducks are new to her.

DD has woken up with a sore throat, they got wet at thorpe park yesterday, and she did not take a hoodie despite me telling her to, and spent a lot of the time screaming so its not surprising really, I have dosed her up, she is going out with her dad, but may come home earlier if she feels rough.

Dinner for OH and I will be jacket spuds, with some cheese and ham and a few salad bits, dd will have lunch out, but there is pasta for her, or a sandwich.

Jayward, I hope you continue to improve, sending healing vibes to you xxxx

Falady :T:j well done you, and welcome to little Katie, I too would love to see a photo, hope all is going well xxxx

OK better get on, have fun all xx
  • good Morning everyone .I am just waiting for the therapist to come .he is coming to me at the weekends to give me a break from driving to his place.well it seems to be working o.k. although it is a bit uncomfortable but my arm is definitely reducing in size. When he comes to my house I cantake the bandageing off at 10.00 so i can jump in the shower and wash my hair so i'm just about to do that i am really pleased at how the treatment is going and can't wait for my new sleeve to be measured and on my arm.
DGS Danny brought me a big box of choccies on Friday bless him and yesterday my eldest Dd brought me three new library books by my favourite authors which was great as I'm getting fed up with just sitting and watching t.v.
Tomorrow I am going to Bluewater after therapy and will meet up with my friend and we will have lunch and go to the cinema.Only one more week before I am back at Uni and I'm looking forward to that. This year we are studying the Thames from the Sea to the source which will be interesting. Well done Falady on the birth of your DD Kaite .My DGD Kaite statred her new part-time job yesterday I will find out how she got on when I go to my Dds later this afternoon
Well take care everyone and have a great sunday.Autumn is on its way as there is a slight nip in the air in the mornings and evenings.I enjoy it when I can curl up in front of the fire and have a good read with my 'cosy' over my knees to keep me warm and a hot pot of tree at my elblow, utter bliss when you look out of the window and see it tipping down Its one of the advantages of being retired .
    Cheers Chums

In that case I'll come with you ;)

    Morning my lovelies :D

Not sure what the weather will do here today - was raining earlier, now stopped - dare I risk hanging out the washing?!

No idea what we're doing today. I had a lie in as I was out drinking (only had 3 and in the club a coke and a Budweiser cost £5 :eek:) and dancing. I think it's time to hang up my 4 inch heels :( I love them and I always feel much better in heels but because I am mostly in flats at home running round after kids my poor feet just can't cope. Ruins the night in the end and I ended walking back to my friends car barefoot. Probably won't be able to move round here due to the Pope's visit either......a day at home no doubt then.

Anyway will try and get some housework done, do another load of washing and drag my butt into the shower.
Tea tonight will no doubt be chicken and veg - how very unoriginal ;)

Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good Sunday OS or not.

Falady - HSstars.gif Well done on the safe arrival of Katie :D Would love to see a pic (although beware I shall probably get all misty eyed for another baby - when I do someone give me a slap ;))

Tru - definately looking forward to hearing the results of a taste test.

Debtmess/Pipkin - nice to see you posting :)

    Bargainbird - :rotfl: @ your DD1 - how posh ;)

    Edited to add:

I copied and pasted a smilie from the linky that JG posted. It's not showing on my post - only a little box with an X in it - can you guys see it?
