Laptop not loading up properly

    Donnie i had a bit of a problem when i rebooted the new hardware wizard came up saying it had found Ethernet Controller

    then told me something about it not being able to configure it but im not sure of that bit ! Anyway it asked if Windows could search for what it needed online i clicked yes so then internet explorer came up but there was no connection. At the time the Ethernet lead was still connected. I checked network connections and the only one was the wireless one the other has disappeared.

    I have connected wirelessly to the hub and thats fine but its the only connection at the moment

    Oops! That because you uninstalled the wrong software. I meant the Wireless Connection software.

    Not a problem, just reinstall the very first Driver(the one you put on the USB Drive) and all will be ship shape...

    It seems that you haven't got around to following the CCleaner instructions in post #144... Are they Disabled? Also the CTFMON.EXE instructions in #153.

    ok mate sorry i havnt been around car trouble, boiler trouble too !

    Ok will reinstall that first driver , i definately did do the CCleaner instructions and i also did the CTFMON.EXE thing too but will go over it again

    I have to say i did realise late last night why the ethernet lead wouldnt work sorry brain was a bit frazzled mate !

    ok mate done the CCleaner stuff have enabled boadcom one too wasnt able to download it as link expired gonna peek to see if i still have it on USB drive or PC, also did the CTFMON.EXE one too

    Ok mate here is the latest

    Re-installed Broadcom and checked its enabled and its back up on the network connections
    Checked with CCleaner and have disabled the 3 you asked me to
    Gone through the instructions again for CTFMON.EXE

    Can i delete the set-up icons for CCleaner, Hijackthis etc off the desktop ?

    If you are using Windows to connect wirelessly, then you don't need the DELL wireless software.

    Yes you can delete the setup files.
    I would also suggest that you use the HOSTS File solution. Malwarebytes is an on demand scanner unless you pay for it. So it won't prevent infection, only help to remove it once you get infected. The HOSTS file will help to prevent the dodgy websites from connecting to the machine in the first place.

    Hello again mate god this is never ending sorry !

    Both times i have followed the instructions to remove CTFMON.EXE very closely and double checked what i was doing so it doesnt seem to be working ! Im sure i followed them to the letter.

    Do i disable the Dell wireless software or have to uninstall ? sorry to be a pain if you could tell me how to get that off please mate. I know you think you have already and shown me which ones and how to do it , but you know i havnt a clue what im doing really so if you could mate cheers, much appreciated
