  • SIPPING VODKA

A new priest at his first mass was so nervous he could hardly speak.

After mass he asked the monsignor how he had done. The monsignor replied, 'When I am worried about getting nervous on thepulpit, I put a glass of vodka next to the water glass. If I start to getnervous, I take a sip.'

So next Sunday he took the monsignor's advice. At the beginning of the sermon, he got nervous and took a drink. He proceeded to talk up a storm.
Upon his return to his office after the mass, he found the following note on the door:

    1) Sip the vodka, don't gulp.
    2) There are 10 commandments, not 12.
    3) There are 12 disciples, not 10.
    4) Jesus was consecrated, not constipated.
    5) Jacob wagered his donkey, he did not bet his !!!.
    6) We do not refer to Jesus Christ as the late J.C.
    7) The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are not referred to as Daddy, Junior and the spooky.
    8) David slew Goliath, he did not kick the sh*t out of him.
9)When David was hit by a rock and was knocked off his donkey, don't say he was stoned off his !!!.
10)We do Not refer to the cross as the 'Big T.'
11)When Jesus broke the bread at the last supper he said, 'take this and eat it for it is my body.' He did not say ' Eat me'
12)The Virgin Mary is not called ' Mary with the Cherry'.
13)The recommended grace before a meal is not: Rub-A-Dub-Dub thanks for the grub, Yeah God.

Oh what a long day that was - got back from hospital at 2 pm, gave doggies a quick walk and got back down to car boot by 2.30 pm - Mr 3Dogs had already packed everything away and ordered our lunch of wedgies, baked beans, sliced griddled chicken breast, with griddled onions - yummy yum yum and all free on my diet :j :j Then we looked in at the auction to view for tomorrow and called at A*da for yoghurts and a few other bits. Did not get home till 5 pm, and took a while to put everything away while hubbie gave the dogs a long walk - I now have my store fridge full to the brim with Act*v*a Fat Free Snackpot yoghurts which were only 20p each :j :j. Then we had a bowl of melon and strawberries with one of those yoghurts - very nice it was too - I checked them up on Sl*m*ng World web-site to find that they are free, just like M*llerlights, so will be great at that price :money: :money:

The car boot had been quiet again this morning and everyone was saying they'd had a bad day - hubbie took £51 after paying pitch fee of £6, which is about half he had been taking on a Friday up till last week - think the weather is putting people off

A big welcome to boult, saorsie and romylou and thank you for de-lurking - I see you have already had the big welcome from our official greeter SW and her assistant FFC - I look forward to chatting to you sometime - as long as you are not looking for anything too serious, then this is the place for you - I'll keep the serious bits for my story and other than that we will just have fun - we all need a bit of fun to keep our spirits up don't we??

By the way, my friend was given new medication by her specialist and is to go back for further treatment, so it was a positive visit for her today - so I have arranged to go with her when she has to go agin, to hold her hand, so to speak

I hope SW has a good night out tonight with Penny, and that FFC has had a good day too, as well as my other friends :D:D
