Doesn't sound strange to me - I can understand that those thoughts would cross your mind, but you are too full of life for that - and we want you to be around for a long long time yet - I didn't make such a good friend to lose them, so keep going hun, try not to take things so seriously, and concentrate on your health and fun, fun, fun. If you keep your blood sugars steady, you can stay fit and happy, so please do try with your diet

If you think about it, a slimming diet is very similar to a diabetic diet - there are lots of times we want to eat rubbish, in fact Alan still does at times, but we consider losing weight more important. Yes, going off our diet does make us as ill as your diabetes when you go for rubbish food, but putting on weight again would be terrible for our health, which has improved so much as we lost weight. My body, and my mnd, just couldn't face putting the weight back on, so I have to continue with my diet, even when progress is so slow

    That's the spirit girl :j :j :j :j

I don't think I will be staying up much longer, as I still feel a little worn out after the last few days - what about you?

Did you have anything to eat at home tonight? We ate at the cafe at the car boot when I went back down, so didn't need to cook anything - we just had fruit and yoghurt - yummy

I think i know what i have to eat but i put that at the back of my priorities. All i am doing is making myself more ill. As my doctor says i must put me first. Part of me wants to go blind. Then i wont be on here, i wont have to struggle to work and i can die but the other half remembers all my childhood friends that didn't make it and i have to keep going for them. How stupid does that sound?

Worried jim is not insulin dependent and he is on a strange food diet. I dont know if there is a thread i can use. i have lots of cookery books i have to wait till the builders go and i can cook again and eat v carefully.

    things will get better.

Not that strange.... I eat special k, plain porridge, salad, chicken, tuna and er, thats it, always skimmed milk. I feel full and the weight is falling off and my blood sugar is perfect. It is really cheap as well.

Good Morning friends - well I just got up at 11.20 am after a lovely long, deep sleep, so I've had my breakfast and then had a little look on here

Hiya Worried Jim - thanks for that info for SW - your diet sounds very good, and balanced too. I take it you can eat normal veg as well as salads, like carrots, sprouts, onions, mushrooms, etc - with that diet, which is more or less what we eat on Sl*mm*ng W*rld and we aren't diabetic, you are eating very healthily and so glad that you are losing weight at the same time as keeping you sugar levels good

I guess that snacks are a problem though - we have yoghurts and fruit mainly, but diabetics can't eat them can they? What do you eat as snacks Jim?

SW needs to really get her head around all this after the builders have gone and plan what she can and can't eat. I know that slimming in itself is not the same as changing diet for diabetes, but we used to live on the same sort of foods that she does now and we have stopped and don't actually crave those foods now. We do have a treat every Monday night after weigh-in but that is all we need. I wouldn't thank anyone for fish & chips, burger, fried food, etc now - the smell just turns me off as all I can smell is the fat/oil - yuk!

SW - you can do this and your sugars will improve petal. We are here to help you get your diet under control and will nag you
and nag you until you do as you are told ;);)

Edit: Sorry for talking about you when you weren't here SW - were your ears burning today?

Hiya Steve - yes, not done much today. Didn't get up till 11.20 am for a start  but I've done the hoovering (unusual for me :D), tidied the kitchen up which really needed it, and did a little supervision of Mr 3Dogs as he cleared out the shed. He got everything out into the garden and only put back what needed to be there, plus some eBay stuff. He put car boot things into the van and took them down there ready for tomorrow. And he also has a couple of boxes of bits to throw away, so it was a good job well done :T

It's been a lovely warm mostly sunny day here, which is how hubbie managed to get the shed cleared, as last time he tried, it rained and he had to shove it all back in again unsorted

How's your day been then pet?

Snacks? I don't. If I am feeling peckish then I'll have a bowl of porridge or special k. Vegetables are fine, but not if they grow in the ground so carrots potatoes etc are a no no but cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower are fine.
