Happy New Year Everyone. Here's to lots of beautiful shabby chic and crafty ideas. x:beer:0

You could use it as a kind of large collage of family photos: maybe age them a bit with fading, sepia, b&w,....
I was really getting into DIY, having made/put up a few shelves, laid a solid wood floor, and other bits, but due to a little accident I'm rather incapacitated at present, so my current project is a globe light shade, which I'm really making a meal of! Started with one of those light-up atlas globes which youngest had performed his own special kind of 'downcycling' on.., changed from repairing/using that, to using it as a papier mache erm.. 'mould'.., and it's finally starting to take shape

I am going to make a start on some furniture this weekend.
Can I ask your opinions on ESP (Owatrol). It is quite pricey but "seems" to have good reviews.
Is there another product I can use?
The furniture I have is an old melamine wardrobe and a wooden chest of drawers (this has already been stripped)Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
I'm a major fan of ESP. A little goes a long way too as it has the consistency of water. I don't get around to doing much in the way of painting furniture but am quite fussy when I do and this is my "go to" product.0

I have done some bits and bobs recently. Made an umbrella stand for the porch using some leftover clay drain pipes.
Have bought some fabric in the Laura Ashley sale and made some hanging hearts for my daughters bedroom, also covered a blank canvas I found with the fabric (and painted her walls in our new house)
Also altered a wardrobe bought cheaply to fit my son's bedroom's sloping ceiling0 -
Morning all
I've not posted on this thread before, but I just wanted to post a pic of an armoire display cabinet I spotted in my local second hand/furniture clearance shop:
I thought it was going to be silly money, but was pleasantly surprised so asked the chap in the shop to hold it for me till today so I could decide on whether to buy it. I am going for it and am planning on giving it a makeover with Annie Sloan chalk paint (which i have never used before but read is good for painting straight onto wood without having to prime etc)
The wood is quite bashed in places, otherwise I may have decided to wax it and leave it as wood, but I think it will look lovely cream.
Only problem is we have no room for it in our maisonette! I am a bit of a furniture addict and the place is bursting at the seams with vintage treasures, so I may sell it, but most probably won't as I think it's adorable
Will post pics of WIP and the finished articleMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
