Kitchen coming along - appliances in now but no electric to cooker yet.
Made space in lounge when the fridge, dishwasher, cooker and hood were moved into kitchen.
Now - delivery arrived - filled the space again - toilets, sinks, bath, taps, bath panel, vanity units etc.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Flo - I'm playing the shifting it all around game too, the space that was filled with wood paneling boards is now filled with the boxes of stuff ready to go back in cupboards (these were stored in my bedroom), my bedroom now has all the furniture back in the right places but the living room and dining room are still all over the show.
Wood paneling was finished today - hurrah! It just needs a final bit of filling and painting tomorrow and en skirting boards and dado rail go on Monday. I tiled the sink splash back last night so I shall grout that after tea. Window boards need sanding and waxing for Monday too. Then it's final bits and bobs, new sockets to go on, blinds to go up and curtains to hang (hmmmm suppose I should actually get them made then!)"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. I've looked through pages and pages of this thread, apologies if the answer is hidden away somewhere and I didn't see it.
I have the remnants of a 1930 - 1940's kitchen, parts have been updated over the years but nothing since the 60's except for a grubby 1980's cooker. I have my heart set on making it a shabby chic / country style kitchen but have very little money so need to do it as cheaply as possible.
My first project is going to be putting up painted shelves, I want to do them in a DIY chalk paint, some sort of old white colour.
Are there any cheap brands of emulsion that work well with the plaster of paris I should look out for?:happylove0 -

Wilkinsons matt emulsion is great. I would avoid B&Q budget paint, if they still make it!0 -

After:
This was zinsser primer (waterbased), Wilkinsons cosy grey matt emulsion underneath, Dulux Trade paint in Porcelain on top and Liberon wax. The top was stripped, darkened, lightened and sealed too.0 -
