The grey reminds me of dirty old toilet blocks....Blugh!

I spent a few hours sanding a little shelf/peg thing down, waxed it and now I'm not sure I like it. Might take the wax off and stain it a bit darker. I wasn't in the mood when I started sanding, I should know better and just walk away from the sander on days like that.

Florence, you know, we have white. Durr. It looks great though....
I still think grey with cream is liable to look dirty. Sorry. Mx

My kitchen man says he can get white or beige grout - not cream.

You could get your own cream grout for him to use? I used some cream grout for mosaic work. It came as a powder but it was great stuff. I must have got it from B&Q or somewhere like that.

Thanks - I looked online - B&Q do cream grout - kitchen man is working here today - told him. At the moment - leaning more towards cream grout as my worktop is not plain so don't need busy look to the tiling. All these decisions. When I decided to renovate the house - just did not realise quite what it involved.

mitziliz, they are super simple- the kids helped and they are 4 and 6. I bought packs of 15 sheets of tissue paper - £1 from pound shop. Fold in half and concertina it. Tie in the middle and chop the ends on an angle. fluff out. Tie 3-4 together and then hang. Simples.

Her party is next weekend - we started the prep early! Planning on making loads more and some little ones which I will attach to the little cake boxes I bought instead of party bags. I hate party bags....

Just looked at the grey grout pics online.

They sound like it'd look awful but looks dramatic and is practical at the same time.

    I vote grey.

    I have been converted!

I have white metro tiles with grey grout in the kitchen, but it's got an industrial-vintage feel to it so works really well. I intially tried white and it looked awful, the grout was more white than the tiles and made the tiles look grubby. It might be similar with cream grout with cream tiles unless the shade is exactly the same.

grey is very practical, and you can get various shades, a light grey with cream might be a lovely mix of neutrals.
