Today I found some picture frames for 50p and as I have been asked to make a 'new baby thingy', thought that I could spray them and then use wooden letters from E bay to decorate. The letters are really cheap but to be honest I bought them far too large. I think it cost me £3 with postage for these. Anyway I sprayed the frames. The letters; I drew round them on pretty paper, cut out then used an emery board to neaten them once glued to the wooden bits. I also put a bit of this gunky stuff called anitas glossy finish on them then used a glue gun for the first time to attach them to the frames. This cost me about £4 for each one. They are really nice.
thats lovely and i am sure she will love it0 -

Wow!! They are two lovely chairs, and will look even more beautiful when they are painted. I look forward to hearing which colours you decide on, and to seeing the finished chairs of course0 -
the chairs are lovely. I might be tempted to keep them as they are!0

they are the same as my kitchen chairs but yours are older and have a better patina. I also would be tempted to leave as is.0

its funny you say that as daughter said this morning she make keep hers as it is. i am wondering if i should paint one and put it in our bathroom or just leave it as it is giving it a good clean and maybe just hang a sewn heart on it.0 -
I would love to have those chairs as they are, they look so old and characterful, something that can't be faked. Don't clean too hard or the patina will go. A heart or a little cushion would be cute.0

I would leave the chairs as is HMO they are a lovely colour. A heart hanging from the back would look ace. IMO.0

my blog is working again so I've updated it, this is the one in daughters room at the moment untouched.
still not sure what to do with the other will give it a clean and see how it looks then.0 -
I bought this at a boot fair about 9 years ago and it's been in the garage ever since ... hubs has just dragged it in for me and I'm cleaning it and churning frantically in my office/craft room to see if I can fit it in0
