Does anyone know where the best places to buy fabric flowers from?
My bed throw had a little quilted effect due to little 'pulls' in the satin that gathered the fabric at regular places.
As it's been washed frequently, the stitches have all loosened and was looking in need of TLC.
I have put the 'pulls' painstakingly back in this afternoon. All 60 of them!
It looks lovely again but as I have now introduced cream to the bedroom, I would like each gather to be adorned with a cream flower against the red satin background. I don't know where to source them from though as I've not been out today.
I replaced 2 of the scatter cushions with lacy crocheted covers in cream so think it will all go really nicely together.
I want to put a little touch of my own on the bedding (as I can't crochet!)
Hope you are all well today.
Edit:
Forgot to mention, I bought a tulip red dye from Dunelm yesterday and have today spruced up my fabric footstool that we had years ago from freecycle. It looks lovely.
There was an area where it had worn but I have darned the little patch quite lovingly and you really are hard put to find where I've done it!!!!!
Now I don't need to get another footstool!! :j:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Not sure where you are jumblejack, but ropund here you can get fabric flowers from Very and also from a stall on the market much cheaper than at the haberdashers department in eg John Lewis.
Another option is to check out charity shops for decorated hats, children's clothes etc to get trimmings from (don't forget to re-recycle anything you don't use back to the cs or in bags of rags)
PS oops! Don't know why I said Very, I meant What!0 -
fabric flowers are a tad pricey on Amazon, and I wondered if they are washable? Saw these buttons though

Oh my! The roses on the mantelpiece are stunning!!!!
Funnily enough, I have a string of ribbon like the first pic (daisy shape). I would never have thought of that!!!
Ideally, I want little cream or ivory rose buds.
I didn't think of haberdashery stalls, etc! You can tell how long it is since I walked around a market!
I have heard the mention of Very a few times on various threads. Ill have to google them out of curiosity.
It's been nice to catch up on jobs that needed doing today.
The sewing box has been put to very good use today as lots of little repairs have finally been done whilst I was wielding the needle.
As i started fixing the spread earlier, I was thinking about fixing little opaque ivory beads on each 'gather' initially but then argued that perhaps it might be uncomfortable to lounge on. Hence the ivory rose bud alternative.
I do like twinkly things!! Was chuffed last night as OH gave me a package that has arrived when I was out. It was cut glass doorknobs from eBay for my upcycled wardrobes and extra ones to switch on my chest of drawers to match. :j:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I would love to be able to crochet!! It is on my bucket list of things I want to accomplish!
I would be full of pride if I could do those cute flowers to embellish the spread with!!!
Edit:
I have just found the most easy tutorial on YouTube! I am definitely hunting some yarn and a hook tomorrow. Hopefully by this time tomorrow, I will have completed a simple dish cloth to ease me into it!!!!!
Whoop whoop whoop!!!!! :j

good luck with it. I can just about sew on a button, my husband has to sew the repairs in this house!
I've done some quality churning tonight - got all the files of insurance docs etc together on shelves in a cupboard, and some of the arts & crafts paper and interesting paper stuff I found in a skip at the Paper Mill into a drawer where I can actually find it. I'm ready to run if there's a flood, which isn't all that likely as it's dry as a bone round here and no river for miles.0
