    Hi there!

Does this book come with the bag material and pattern that is in the SEW! book on amazon do you know?

Thanks so much for mentioning that and have treated myself to it from amazon with the free fabric etc and as I got free delivery I figured I could justify that - am just coming to the end of a shabby chic overhaul of my house and will make a few things from the book to finish it off

(is it sad that I am truly really excited about recieveing this? :rotfl:)

By the way all - thinking of plastikote - I went into b and q yesterday and they had a sale on in mine on plastikote - only some colours but I got a sort of aqua blue green (much more sc than I can communicate on here lol) reduced to £2.99. HTH someone

forgot to say bebs I think it would look fab white - especially in a sort of vintagey white IYSWIM - but there are much more experienced sc ers that could advise - good luck with your makeover if you decide to go for it.

    xx

When I ordered a Cath Kidson book a year or two ago from the book people it did not come with material etc and I was quite disappointed. You could e mail them and ask to see if this is still what they do.

    bebs

I think that would look great painted cream or ivory with gold handles.

Ohh think I will buy it! Can someone tell me what would be the best paint to use? Sorry, I am really, really new at this :o
  • That would look horrid Bebs...let me dispose of it for you instead :D

I just ordered enough Laura Ashley 'Hawthorne' wallpaper to do a feature wall through the open plan kitchen, dining room & living room because it's half price at the moment. So very excited, but I think wallpapering is a long way off...it's not even open plan until the weekend

I use undercoat & primer in one (B&Q colours is a good one) then Farrow & Ball Estate Eggshell paint over the top (I buy mine from Homebase). I use 'Dimity' alot - the wardrobe I posted on the last page is that shade if that helps :)

Hi everyone. I just caught up an skimmed several pages that I'd missed. It's nice that you were missing me, I've just been having a nightmare since we got back from holiday...

First I started to upload the holoday photos onto the laptop and realised that the folder that we keep photos and videos in was missing. The penny dropped that in trying to fix the issues I was having weeks earlier, I'd delete DH's obsolete account (or so I thought) but in doing so his area of the file directory was also deleted. I've been running restore programmes but still have a lot missing. It's terrible as all of the baby photos, videos all of our wedding pics and every holiday were on there and we never printed any or backed them up. So not been online much while this has been running.

Then it seems that being away and turning the central heating back on has resulted in a flea infestation. I've been on a neverending cycle of hoovering, spraying, bathing and combing cats, steam cleaning and washing absolutley everything, and on top of that having to make excuses as to why we can't have people round for a few weeks ahhhhhhh. Got to keep it quiet as when I let friends know that Dylan had nits nobody would come near us for weeks.

It's lovely that so many of us know each other in real life, Shirl I will have to invite you round mine when we've all stopped itching!

So anyway, not been doing a lot of SCing lately but enjoyed very much looking at everyone elses.

ok....I am absolutely flabbergasted to say I've had a lovely dresser from Freecycle! Here is the pic that was on freecycle

What would you experienced chics advise? sand it?

I'm thinking F&B dimity for the top coat but not sure what to do for the underneath. I'd like it all in dimity apart from the top of the bottom bit (if you know what i mean)

I'm shabby chic virgin, this is my first go!

I gave one of these away a year or so ago!!! I have always wanted a dresser, but havent got room for one when I moved into my new house. I wonder if its mine!!!

Glad to see you back Vicki, but sorry to hear things haven't been going well. You've reminded me the best bit about not having cats is that you don't get the fleas either. I had been looking wistfully at kittens the other day but that's wiped that thought. You can always come to mine for coffee if you can stand the mess. I've had a TV cabinet sat in my family room for nearly a month now waiting for me to paint it. If I put it out of sight it will never get done!

I really love this. Did you hanpaint the cockerel yourself. I have a thing about chickens at the moment and now I want one of these!!

Lol yes I handpaint them using acrylic paints, I must say chickens and cockerels are very popular ..here are a couple of commisions I had using them ...the top one is a recipe book stand that I painted on both sides and the other was a pencil pot :D
